I finally made it through Caldwell's Gold!

I take forever to finish things. I've been playing this game since 2014, and today, TODAY, I finally managed to take a character through all three faction storylines.

I feel... nonplussed. :-D

Wow, i've still not even started Cadwell's Silver on my Chars (also 2014) it's so annoying that i cannot abandon that quest as it just sits there in my clean quest-log laughing at me...

Having done all 3 storylines on separate chars and seeing how much is just a replicated quest and the introduction of crown-shop skyshards, I also have no intention of doing so either.

To be fair the 3 main story questlines now need re-writing to suit all the modern quests in game now.

It can get very confusing when main NPC's are talking to you like they don't know you but you just finished a major storyline with them the day before......

the reward for gold seems so bad so i never bothered to do all 3 on one character...

Can anyone revisit the rewards for Cadwell's Silver / Gold. I did it once and was severely underwhelmed at the rewards...

Normally a Carrot has a..."Carrot" at the End. I felt like I wasted my time the first time I did it. years ago on one toon, therefore I never attempted it again.

Same. I've been playing since launch and haven't even touched silver :P Still, slogging through gold is an accomplishment for sure.

Why do you need a special reward for finishing Cadwell's Silver or Cadwell's Gold? I've done them on only one character, and it was so long ago that I can't remember if there were any special rewards-- and if so, what they were-- but I hope to do them on all of my characters eventually, with or without any special rewards.

And to the OP: Congratulations! If you feel like partying, I'm down for that! You'd be supplying the party house and all of the libations, right? Please say you'll be supplying the libations. Don't get cheap on us; we don't want no stingy-[snip] BYOB party!

As far as I recall,

• For completing Silver, you get the Soulshriven motif style (and some trash).
• For completing Gold, you get Cadwell's helmet costume (and some trash). This is one of my favorite "hats" that you can equip from your Collections, Appearance, Headwear. I only use it on my characters that have actually completed Gold, but you could use it on any toon once one of them has completed Gold.

So, Silver is sorta worth completing on more than one toon, but Gold doesn't give you much value after your first character - except for all the skill points you collect along the way, which can be handy if you want to level up Antiquities.

No, take the Quest Logs addon, then start to clean every single quest in the game !
I'm close to finish it, their is so many quest I had no clue, way more than you think even when you finished all "blue bar on map".

I finished it a couple months back on my second account main. I have the feeling I won't finish it on this account's main - I'm not very interested in redoinq quests on everyone.

I actually did the entire Silver and Gold questlines in about two weeks. I just wanted it out of my way....

I did it on my NA account once. I only did the quest lines on some characters when I first started. Gold was so tedious that I stopped and didn't go back until I needed to do a zone for a house. Then I raced through it. I'm only doing it on my main on my EU account now. Rewards should be sweet for that level of tedium but nope. Still worth it if you need the skill points.

I only started playing in March of this year. I made it through silver no problems but midway through Gold I started to get quest fatigue. My last alliance zones were DC as well and those are extremely quest heavy albeit short but the list of things to do is long sometimes. I took a break from it for a while only to see the antiquities preview and than blew through the last 3 zones to make sure I had everything unlocked and available to make my life a lot easier when searching for buried treasure.

Playing through all the zones has its advantages especially if you can pick up a few houses along the way because you can get easier access to lore books when you start new magicka toons or access to certain quests for equipment drops such as for that infused lightning staff in Deshaan. With strategic real estate you can move about all the zones more freely. You don’t need a house in every zone because you can still walk freely from zone to zone, so pick your houses accordingly so your new toons can flow from place to place, maybe grab a quick way shrine by walking to a neighbouring zone just to have access and come back later.

Cadwell’s gold is a must complete for at least one character. Congrats on completing that grind though. It’s really hard to push through sometimes but it’s a worthy accomplishment. Now go get play Orsinium (Wrothgar) next because the finale of that quest line will lead you into the Daedric War storyline and those quests/zones are quite memorable.

Typically it’s the main quest line of each zone, but sometimes there is a side quest or two that also needs to be done. You can see it though the menu under Cadwell’s Almanac.

It's a hangover from before One Tamriel, when you needed to complete the story line for an Alliance before you got to enter the others. At the end of the one where you started your character, you got entry to the next, and Gold was required if you wanted to go everywhere. It's why the craftable sets have locations in each Alliance, among other effects. The main benefit of doing it these days is that the story-line quests give you skill points.

Things like crafting materials being restricted to specific zones went a way at the same time, and nodes became character-leveled instead.

These days mob grinds are the norm. And then people realize they don’t have enough skill points and have to run content anyway.
