Allow houseguests (and merchants) to perform emotes?

I'm not sure whether or not I just missed this in the patch notes. Wouldn't it be great though if houseguests could use emotes instead of only being able to walk around?
In my opinion having them use emotes is far cooler than simply having them walk in circles all the time.
You could have guards saluting you at the entrance to the house, guests could be dancing and relaxing at a party you're throwing and so many other things.
If you could combine the paths and emotes that would really allow you to place somewhat believable and realistic npcs in your house, but this is probs a long shot.

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

They just walk around? What a pity. Do they have dialogue when you try to interact with them?

I honestly don't know, since I haven't tested it on the pts yet. They may have dialogue lines but I didn't see anything in the patch notes about that.

I'm really wondering. Otherwise, if they'd just be there, like a moving piece of furniture, but not interactable with... wouldn't appeal to me.

I want one that can sit and looks like they're eating from the plate full of food in front of them and drinking from the goblet of wine. I mean come on! We want to have dinner parties!

There have been some dialogue lines that have been datamined recently (can't remember where exactly), so it seems they can at least be talked to.
But yes, emotes/dancing/sitting/sweeping, there are a bunch of things I'd like them to do. Baby steps though, maybe it'll be added later? Or added before the patch becomes live?

Definitely need some emotes, the dialogue from what I gathered from the guard is 3 different lines, and on top of that, he's bossing me around in my own home. I doubt I'll bother using them, these seem better suited for guild houses, but they're too boring.

Honestly it would be weird if they didn't at least have a selection of idles. Simply walking around endlessly like a robot is creepy.

Oh alright so they have dialogue lines, that's something at least.
But can they be interacted with, can you ask them questions that is?

That seemed to be the only time they'd talk is when you interact with them.

@SpiderKnight Yes, but is it longer dialogue or just a random line (like when you try to talk to city guards and some commoners) like a greeting or "I'm busy"?

Alright thanks man! I really hope they flesh out the house guest system then.

It depends. It seems to be 2 types of guests. 1 is like the guard who acts like typical guards. Just a short line. But then there is another type which the khajiit scholar is, who has a lot more dialogue.

I would really love for emotes to be part of the pathing system! I’d love for Phedre to be able to also look around, toggle when she gets out her map to look at, and maybe also get out a book to reference. Biro-dar I’d love to be able to have a seat and relax, getting up to examine things and takes notes when he thinks he isn’t being observed or perhaps when he is so as to seem diligently scholarly — who can say!

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I've been asking for them to add animations since they were released. I'd like to make my wolf fall asleep in his cave as an example. haha
