Thieves Troves need a better respawn or more locations ZOS

Not sure where to recommend ideas to ZOS as I never really come to the forums, but I can't get my last lead because of all the people farming troves and the ones I camp out NEVER seem to respawn. I camped one earlier today for OVER AN HOUR. Nothing came back. How the *** do I go about getting this lead when I can't even find troves? Wasting hours of my time trying to get this last lead is making this rather unfun and this antiquity system was what really brought me back to ESO. Its fun, but the troves is so bad. The dungeons aren't nearly as bad as you're not competing with players and even with safeboxes and chests they have a rather decent spawn rate, but it seems troves are just non existent and its really frustrating ZOS. Really close to quitting again because what's the point if I can't even continue my progress because items are so far a few between.

If you're on pc: there are mods for spawn locations.

Everything that sounds like it might actually be reasonable is likely to be exploited by a bot.
We already have bot stacks roaming around killing mudcrabs and bots vacuuming up overland nodes.
No need to add Thieves Troves to that -- or maybe they are already opening all the Troves too.

On a separate note -- Not sure if Thieves Troves work the same way as regular treasure chests do, but with treasure chests, as far as I know they are linked to each other in an area. If a chest isn't opened and completely emptied of contents, it will just sit there and no other location will spawn a chest.
That's why people in zone get upset when they find a partially looted chest because it means it won't refresh/respawn anywhere in the valid locations. Camping a valid location won't necessarily mean a chest will eventually appear, no matter how long you sit there.

(To explain it another way -- know how dolmens work? To make the next one spawn, the currently active dolmen must be cleared first. Otherwise you can sit there forever and it's not going to activate).

If this was a clever attempt by ZOS to thwart camping / bots farming, it definitely seems to work.

For thieves troves, if you're on PC, use an addon to put them on your map (harvest map/map pins) and get on a fast horse and run from one spawn point to another until you find one. Camping thieves troves is pointless as you've noted above. The spawn time makes that a non option. Using this sprint to the next spawn method, I can typically get a trove every couple minutes, but it depends on the zone, density of troves, terrain and a bit of luck. Definitely better than waiting an hour.

If you are trying to get the Silvenari Sap-Stone lead from thieves troves in Malabal Tor... then yes, I have felt your pain. There is only like 3 troves in that area and players are constantly camping them. Do not put yourself through that misery. I tried it for a few hours then said ____ this.

Go the treasure map route. It's a lot less annoying and I can confirm you can get the lead from doing them there. It may also help to have the two ancestral motifs open when you try - otherwise you might get the lead for those instead.

There are quite a few thieves throves everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Without any addons I got the Silvenari Sap-Stone within an hour or two. (Was farming some spinner's)

My guess is that many thieves throves locations haven't been found by players yet, and therefor are not in the addons. So if everyone with the addon camps the same few spots, then yeah it's going to feel like a pain.

I often see players walk almost directly over thieves throves(and chests), without them noticing it is there. Stop being in a rush, and just look around.

Add-ons are tools, like a hammer... if you focus on them too much, instead of focussing on what you are aiming for, you will hit your own fingers.

There is the trove near the Crimson Cove, inside the Ship Wreck, and then that one in the cave near where the Strangler boss pops. Those were the only ones I have been able to find.

What other ones are there? And I'm not trying to imply you're wrong about them being "everywhere" either. Maybe they are and I just couldn't find them. I'd just like to know where (the OP probably would too).

The sap stone lead also drops from lock boxes. I have gotten 2 while farming for the music box lead. There are about a dozen troves from the tent at velyn Harbor to crimson cove.

Under fallen trees, in medium high tree stumps, hidden areas within treeroots, between two small roots near eachother, small camps with mage guild books often have throves as well, below bridges, behind treehouses, etc. I was looking for chests due to farming spinners.

Keep in mind, these are almost impossible to spot. Once you found a few, you will know what to look for, and will spot them alot more easily. In atleast some of the spots.

PS: I have this same issue with chests in shadowfen and alik'r... for some reason the chest there are in spots my mind can't grasp. hehe

Can you remember any specific locations you found them besides the three I mentioned so I can add them to my list?

Chests can be kind of random sometimes - but I always thought Theives Troves had specific spawn locations. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

Sorry, no. I always just pick a random wayshrine and walk whichever direction I feel like where I might find something.

Edit: Thieves throves seem to spawn overall at about a 20-25% rate of at which chests seem to spawn. (at random spots)

Well that's interesting. I thought they had fixed spawn locations.
