Is Your Character in ESO a Daedra? Kinda... (Part 2)
Here is the lore braindump of the week on souls, paragon vestiges, and whether or not you are a Daedra in ESO. This builds off of my
braindump from last week. I am not going to restate everything, so instead I will ask you some questions that do not really have any answers from the lore (possibly on purpose by ZOS)
- Do you know of any in-game proof that souls in Elder Scrolls are composed of different parts? I am required to conclude that a soul has two parts in order to understand how vestiges work: the identity part and the energy part. There are some texts that hint at this, but do not say it directly.
- What do you think that morphotypes are? Are they just used with creatia for the formation of a body?
- How do you interpret what AE is? Sounds a lot like identity to me, but other times it seems more grand than that.
- Why does the Vestige have an intrinsic Anuic aspect? Are people sometimes just born with it? Is it specifically because Mundus was in danger and the Heart of Nirn spontaneously generated these paragon individuals? I think that this Anuic aspect furthers the argument that there is an identity part of the soul since we know that the energy part (Anuic animus) was stored away in a soul gem.
- At the end of the main storyline, do you think Meridia gave you back your original soul or a fake? If your character could die...where would you return to?
- Do you keep the Daedric animus even after getting your old Anuic animus back? What does this mean in terms of mortality and more?
- How come a Daedric soul cannot be placed in a mortal body (it has to create a new copy), but you can take your mortal soul back to be hosted in a Daedric body?
I have to say that this part of the Elder Scrolls lore is SO interesting!
