To have, or not have, crafting stations in my home.?

So I've been trying to decide whether or not I should get the regular crafting stations.. As a lover of crafting systems, the idea appeal to me.. But I have a hard time finding any more reason than that.. I would not use them for sets, since I have a guild for that, and with all sets.. I can not turn in writs in my home anyway.. It would only add more loading screens to my crafting..

What have you guys done.? Help me find inspiration 🙂

It's great in between Dungeon runs. Have the Banker and Merchant as well and you can just arrive at home, decon, sell, bank, run next dungeon

I have a full set of regular crafting stations. About the only functional reason to have house besides storage coffers.

For Attunables, i use Guild Halls
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I keep a set of basic stations in my main house. I use them to deconn and upgrade stuff when I'm there. It's also where my transmute station is so to having everything in one place is convenient.
I use the enchanting station all the time actually.

The basic stations are fairly cheap too and you will run out things to buy w/ writ vouchers anyways so why not?

They are useful every now and then, but I kind of regret the time I put into getting them. It's more efficient to craft in a town 99% of the time. Maybe they'd be more useful if I had people over all the time but that just doesn't happen.

We need a furnishing version of the writ turn-in box at least.

I've put all different crafting stations together in one of my homes, directly at the entrance.

My master crafter (who is also my main) uses them for crafting glyphs (when leveling alts), potions, food/drinks, and for deconstructing items (the latter only when I'm there for something else).

I have also a banker there, so I can directly put those things at my bank for my alts.

They won't fit in Snugpod, but otherwise ...

I have full sets of regular stations in at least five houses. Even Sleek Creek, which is so close to Rawl'kha. The ability to port directly to home, decon, research etc. without another load screen wait, makes it all worth the effort of collecting them.

I'm in the same position - all my alts do daily crafting writs at their home city, and Master Writs at a Guild Hall.

I did install the 7 basic crafting stations in my home - very handy for crafting furniture.

Also installed 3 Julianos set stations, but not used as much as I thought I would - rather a waste.

My Transmutate station is used alot, particularly as my second NA account does not have ESO+ and no guild hall to port to.

Have fun and take care out there.

Perhaps you are looking at this wrong, yes?

This one started out just doing writs and buying attunables, for his own enjoyment...Now his house has all 59 sets worth of stations and a transmute, and is used for 3 guilds as their guild crafting hall :).

Hrrrm. Perhaps this one should charge more.

It can come in handy to have the stations in your home if you do a lot of stealing and killing and, therefore, run around with bounties a lot. You can do your deconning and research without worrying about guards.

I have the Mournoth Manner. On the outdoors top level I created a crafting area. It has a nice awning with crates and barrels, and chairs. It is lit up with stringed lights, candles, and lanterns. The aim was to make it seem like an operable crafting area.

I have all the stations in 10/20+ of my homes, and it is indeed convenient.

I find though that I only really use 2-3 homes, so having the redundancy is purely for nostalgic reasons at this point.
I decided to put Julianos in one of my homes, mostly because I don't really care to travel to Wrothgar anymore just to craft gear.

I decided against named stations for my home. Each of my guild's leaders have an appointed house with all the named stations. Figure why spend all that time, when it is so easily accessible that way.

I used to have crafting stations in my home but ended up getting rid of them to free up furniture slots. Current housing limits are a joke.

Not for me because I still need a 'real' merchant who can repair my gear. I find using a real merchant to repair my gear preferable to managing/using one-item repair kits. And crown repair kits are too rare to routinely use.

I did install the 7 basic crafting stations in my home - very handy for crafting furniture.

This was the biggest reason for me. I only have one set of crafting stations, and I keep them stored in one of my trunks so I can pull them out at whatever house I feel like using, and if I just want to decorate a new house I can drop the specific trunk, pull them out, and start building furnishings on the spot.

I have several houses with crafting stations - those 6 normal ones and as well jewelry crafting station. A dye station to change the color of my costumes from time to time is as well available in those homes. I like doing my writs at home, mostly I do them in Rawl'kha in sleek creek house - but as I anyway have a loading screen when I get out of my houses, any of the others is good as well - so I go after my current mood basically.

This is a pretty neat idea as well - never thought about that. I think I will buy another set and put it in the trunk then, that I can craft in those houses as well where I don't want to install them in fixed locations.

    This.

Plus, its just nice to have your own place, not flooded with players/pets. Especially if you are doing speed runs/farming with a group. Then you become headquarters lol.

I have all the storage boxes and the crafting stations near the entrance of my hall of the lunar champion. It really cuts some time during in-game events, because I usually end playing a character by depositing wanted stuff into the storage boxes and deconning unwanted stuff. It also helps with furnishing a home to have crafting stations home too. (so I could craft furniture on the spot)

I have crafting stations in every house I own big enough to take them. The only one I use regularly is Gardner House, partly because the crafting layout of Wayrest is painful and partly because it’s near to Master Writ turn-ins.

As a pleb, I find it most convenient to craft my writs 3 or 6 days at a time, in advance. I have all the non-attunable stations in Old Mistveil Manor and turn my writs in in Riften, mostly.

They’re super useful if you just have to decon some stuff...

    Or make some quick potions

If you’re doing master writs there’s not a lot else to spend your writ vouchers on anyway

I spent a few hours on inventory last night. The basic stations, banker, merchant, and the 8 storage chests were key to my efforts. I deconned/sold duplicate gear. I deconned some gold and purple gear.

Anywho, I freed up approximately 100 slots in the bank and close to that from the storage chests and I am not done yet.

I have (or will have) a home for each of my characters. I'm hoping to use things in the home that my character earned. As example I won't put a Dark Brotherhood banner in a characters home that didn't earn it. To that end my crafter will have all the generic crafting stations in his home and I hope I can simulate stacks of materials for him to use crafting.

I also have some homes that will not belong to characters but will have different themes. A couple of them might get crafting stations. Most homes will not have them.

I have crafting stations set up in my home for all daily crafting needs. Set up in alphabetical order. I jump to my home in Mournhold, pick up all my dailies, then jump to my home with crafting stations. I move along all in order, hitting "t" between each one to do them, then jump back to my house in Mournhold to turn them in. Easy peasy.

They fit you just have to arrange them in a circle with the provisioning in the middle. I used to have mine there till I moved to Daggerfall Outlook. Agreed with everyone here it's good to have them just for deconning, I place all my chests near mine so I can transfer stuff for decon from other toons to my crafter.
