Am I missing something (Antiquities).

A friend completed a 2nd collection of one of the mythic items (Ring of the Wild Hunt).

I wanted to know whether the 2nd item has any use.

There is no value attached to it so it cannot be sold.

He went to the antiquities hall and nothing there either.

I am under the assumption that these can only be used once per account. Is this correct?
If so this is one massive grind for nothing (especially when you need to collect 3 for the codex).

On the matter of codex. Is there a reward for completing each area?

I was assuming you could collect multiples so you can send them to alts. But I haven't gotten around to collecting a second of anything yet so I wasn't really looking at it that closely.

I have 2 Bands of brutality because I use different enchants and traits on them, and this allows me to better adjust my build. Except vof this, I have no idea.

Umm, not thought about changing traits and enchants.

A ring for every occasion.

But still there should be an option to sell them to a vendor if you only want/need one of them.

Yes the point of multiples is you have multiple characters; instead of making you level Scrying and Excavation on every character you can get the same Mythic on the same toon and just bank it to send it to another toon.

Making them sellable would be easy but makes about as much sense as making Legendary items in WoW able to be sold.

"Oh my is that an incredibly rare and absolutely priceless antiquity that no one except an incredibly seasoned and well off adventurer who has braved the depths of some of the darkest dungeons that no guard or mercenary would dare step into would have been able to acquire? Oh it's so beautiful I'll give you 20 gold!"

If you have no need for multiples just trash it if you want it just for the codex lore completion. I find it convenient enough to put on all my alts because it makes running daily writs just even slightly faster.

There are people that only play 1 character.

They are Mythic items so it would make more sense that they had a value and could be sold to a vendor whom would value these items. But 20 gold is stupid I agree.

In no way do I think they should be available to sell to other players on the stores.

This reminds me of TES:Arena, where the Codex Scientia talks about the magical artifacts (Lord's Mail, Oghma Infinium, Chrysamere, etc.):

Equipment stores won't buy them off you either. Even if they did not suspect the object was forgery, which is most likely, few blacksmiths have the millions of gold pieces necessary to purchase such rare objects.

So the NPCs probably think that it's just a really good forgery that's worth maybe 20 gold-- except, judging by how much they'll charge you for something and how much they're willing to give you for the same thing, they'd probably sell it to someone else for a lot more than 20 gold.

you can only equip one mythic item at a time on a character so any multiples you can use on another toon.

You already got the bonus items to sell -
so just trash it if you don't want it
or
simply just go for the treasure antiquities if you are after the gold

why in hell should every detail be convenient in a Fantasy Game ?

It isn't about convenience.

It is about making sense and rewards to fit the cost of time collecting them.

You are forced to collect these to complete the codex.

If they had one collection on the codex then that would be good.

Make them like other items that you can collect as much as you want without extra codex.

No one is "forcing" anyone to complete the codex.

That's purely a player's choice to do so.

Doing the same thing over and over, but expecting the same reward each time, is folly.
