Performance issues.

I seem to recall Zenimax talking about fixing performance with some new updates, but the game today feels laggier than ever. Back when Wolfhunter first dropped, my fps would routinely drop to 1. It would stay that way for 20 minutes or so. Couldn't alt-tab, couldn't close the game..it basically locked up my entire computer.

Now AoEs are causing massive stutters that have never happened before.

I have an idea. Make a patch with the aim of reducing performance. Try to make it [snip] on purpose.

Performance has done nothing but get worse for 3-4 years now mate, it's only become apparent to the game's overall population for the last 1.5 years. The shear fact you don't hear ZOS bringing up their list of "performance improvements" shows you that they didn't work, but we knew that already. Development schedules haven't changed, the lack of communication hasn't changed, so...why you expecting performance to?

We are halfway through the year and my fps has improved in some areas but all the other stuff needs another overhaul. Get some outside help for the second half of this year as the year of performance improvements isn't looking good so far

FPS has only gotten worse with the Greymoor upgrade. Stuttering when gaining experience, drop FPS when on location with vertical synchronization turned off. Also drop FPS just when you look at certain places. for example, my FPS drops to 40 when I approach the jewelry station in Viveс. In Keen Aegis on the last boss, my FPS drops to 25.

I won't be buying Greymoor or ESO+ any more.
It's obvious nothing can be done to fix performance issues or it would have improved by now.
I have plenty of other games to keep me occupied .....

I saw a fat wall of text about nicely phrased plans they can't achieve related to performance some months ago, felt nice after I read them (months ago)
Today I understand that this company is good at phrasing sentences and promises, incompetent in fixing their game

Yesterday, while I was in Halls of the Lunar Champion, I used the portal to go to the Halls of the Collosus section, and I poo you not, I stared at a loading screen for 17 minutes. I timed it.

See, a lot of people in this game report "infinite load screens" and I simply don't believe them. They just didn't wait long enough. I've had load screens that lasted for 30+ minutes in this game. But they always end.

Even a 30 minute load screen is worth waiting for because the time it takes to log out, relaunch eso, log in, and then log in again takes me longer than 30 minutes.

And Zenimax said they released patches to fix these issues..to make them less..well less. But that was a lie. I've got nothing but worse performance and longer load screens since the update.
