Any chance we could increase the light radius and strength of the Treasure Hunter torch?

I use various darkness addons with ReShade to make caves and dungeons really dark, and I also use the Treasure Hunter style (skin? personality?) because of the torch you can equip as you explore...

But the torch itself seems only cosmetic and barely even lights up anything... What are the chances that we could get a stronger light? I love this style but the torch is close to useless.

Here's what I mean. You can see off to the left the game's default torch lights things up pretty well (not so much from this angle, but close up they do a good job) whereas my own torch does almost nothing :*(

You deliberately make the caves darker then moan that the torch isn't powerful enough to penetrate the darkness ?. You have the fix to your problem already if you put your mind to it. :*

It was already asked long ago by many and completely ignored. I personally wished for a refund and never got it. ESO has a bad rep for a reason and that reason is a multitude of things just like this one little example. A huge pile of it that grows because of the studio's mindset.

There is a reason people use darkness mods, they are very popular on the Nexus for TES games and Fallout, it adds to immersion and excitement.

If I use ReShade to boost bloom and lighting for my torch, then all the other lighting in the game completely washes out my screen because the hand-held torch is so weak that I have to crank all lighting settings to 11 just to get it to work.

I'm just asking for one tiny fix for the purpose of immersion and fun, I just want the torch's fire to be on par with the wall and cave torches you find everywhere in the game, it's a tiny fix that would require a tiny tweak from a dev.

Oh i'm not complaining, it just seems odd to me like someone going into a room and turning off the light and asking someone to fetch a candle because they can't see. I think you need to lighten up ( no pun intended ) :p Oh and i do hope you get a fix for this.

I doubt the will adjust the that comes off that. The issue I see is if I play with that same personality I would blind myself, I don't have the darkness addons.

I'm not asking for blinding brightness, just standard brightness on par with other torches already in the caves. There is nothing blinding about them, they are just relatively normal fires.

The carried player torch is about a quarter of that strength, it's actually pretty useless. I can't see there being a problem with changing that, especially from a time/resource point of view... Depending on how their lighting works, they just need to change a number or copy/past a different mesh.

Thanks for the good vibes. As I said, it's all about immersion.

To me the difference between (a) entering a fully lit cave and (b) entering a dark spooky cave that I have to manually light up myself with a torch, is HUGE. I then have to put my torch away to fight daedric monstrosities in the dark when my torch goes out because I need both hands to swing my weapon... It completely changes the game.

I still play Oblivion with this kind of setup and it's astronomically different gameplay. When my torch goes out in a pitch-black cave and zombies start attacking me when I can only see their eyes, the atmosphere is incredible.

I was in the same boat as you asking the same question when it cam,e out.

Since I am using Voltan's Darker Nights and other addons and Was excited to get the personality, but to no avail the touch is really weak.

I found a really good work around, let me know if it works for you.

I did the Quest: A Favor Returned quickly with an alt character without reading anything, not so spoil the quest and received the ""Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern" Memento as a reward. The quest is done in under 10 mins.

Once you have the Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern Memento you can active the Memento for around 30 Seconds for the best light source in the game, So when I use the treasure seeker personality and need more light I use the memento and it works wonders.

Tip. If you will use it set up an keybind to it with Collections Bars addons,Mine is CTRL + RMB for easy access

    Good luck

Thanks for sharing the info, yes I already have this trinket too. I do indeed use it to great effect, but it gets tiring spamming the same button, and it also uses a quick slot.

It definitely is a cool effect though and really lights the place up... I just wish they could apply that same logic to the torch, it would look way cooler.

I agree that it would be cool if the torch would be as bright.

    Try using the Collections Addons.https://esoui.com/downloads/info2339-Collectionbars.html

It lets you keybind Any of your collections items,Mementos ,Personalities, Costumes or whatever is in Collections without using a quick slot.

I set it up as CTRL + Right Mouse Click
    .
So To not spend using quick slot and for effortless accessibility.

Oh, that addon sounds like it would be good to assign H to toggle the helm on and off! <hijacks thread for own personal concern >

    No.

It makes absolutely NO sense to modify game content because of an add-on. Ever. Make some other add on to fix your add on induced problem.

    Except it's neither addon-induced, nor a problem.

The light is very weak, and has nothing to do with ReShade.

And it isn't a problem, it's a criticism and a request. I'm asking them to enhance something that is already cool. I love this personality, it is perfect for my character style and setup, and thus not a "problem".

I'm just asking for them to improve it even further. Not sure where your negativity is coming from, to be honest.

To be fair, torches don't make a lot of light in real life either  Lanterns would be better - I guess the glass would amplify the light.

True, but I would still want my hand-held torch to be consistent with the torches already in caves.

hmm Never noticed that (I've used that personality too, and I've also had darkening add-ons, though I've stopped using them). Yeah, that'd be a problem. Guess they didn't attach any stronger light-source-mode things to the player torch, or whatever they do to increase lights in dungeons.

It's probably too costly on performance to add that to a moving object like the player. Which means that if/when they add a lantern personality, it won't be much better :/

More light cast outward would be nice, but they have to reduce/get rid of the glare on this. I can't use it because the glare is so distracting and blocks everything else near it.
