I have no idea how on earth this expansion was approved for release to PC, there are so many bugs and problems with it almost 2 weeks after release. It should have been pushed back a month not a week. Not to mention how the majority of players feel the content is so small it should have been a DLC release and not a chapter.

I have been playing MMO's since I was 12 (16 years ago) and I honestly cannot remember such a bad release of an already released extension product. The forums are littered with bugs that are still ongoing weeks later, not to mention the extraordinary problems that the game had when the expansion was initially dropped. (Players who paid for the game not being able to access the content and those who hadn't paid for it being able to)... This was game breaking and not fixed for 3 days.

It absolutely baffles me how this game still has such a strong player base when the support from the development team is so damn abysmal. I honestly think that this is down to the current Covid-19 situation, it will interesting to see how well the player base holds up when people go back to work from lock down.

I dare anybody to make a list of current problems with the game that are not being addressed, I dare you. The list will be so long.

What makes this thread even funnier is the case that ZOS have also mentioned they are no longer giving updates on what they shall be doing to improve the stability of the game going forward (probably the biggest problem the game has).. It baffles me who thought this would be a smart decision, but again this notice was given during the problems after expansion so most people haven't seen it.

Out of all the expansions this game has had, this one has fallen flat on it's face and the reviews from multiple outlets have shown this, ZOS should feel ashamed to charge people for such an unfinished product.

The last thing to note is how incredibly self absorbed ZOS have been during this entire process, there has not been one forum post by any admins or developers mentioning the problems or an apology to the player base on how badly this expansion has gone, its absolutely astounding.

Then again the game did have an 18% playerdrop in the last 30 days so maybe people are taking note of their mistakes.

Go and look up their current steam reviews for all expansions -

Greymoor - Mixed (182)
Elsweyr - Very Positive (410)
Original game - Very Positive (60,417)

I agree. This is the first time, that I report up to 5 different problems and bugs every day. Just yesterday, seen bugged harrowstorm, went to Dragonhome delve to meet with unbeatable draugr, next quest in Shadowgreen- lorebooks are not registering as read, or seen in eidetic library. Went to antiquity hunt- dug out one, scryed next one on the spot, showed same digging area. Antiquarian eye says I am not in the area, even when I stand near next dig site. Relog fixed it. Ofc I reported everything, but it is frustrating, especially with 12-17 fps on average, with up to 5 fps during bosses and dungeons.

ESO is a game I keep picking up, and then putting down. With every new expansion drop, I think "I'll try and stick with it this time, it's not so bad, keep an open mind". But now, I think I'm done. Greymoor exhausted the last of the interest I have, trying to force myself to look past all the issues with this game. If it was any other IP, this game would have died. People overlook all the issues because of the TES setting, and it needs to stop. What I find absolutely baffling is the nearly full price they charge for a zone a year, and roughly 10 hours of content. I hate to say it, because I prefer TES over WoW, but I think I'm going to just accept that WoW is the only mmo that is moderately okay to invest time in. It's older, but for the same price, you get way more content.

If I had a pound (or crown store gem) for everytime I have heard this in the past few days I would be very rich..

Or afford half of a crown gem wicker mount.

It’s a buggy expansion built on a broken base and, in EU at least, loaded on to trash server infrastructure.

It’s further derailed by bad management decisions and terrible leadership, that seems to go out of its way to ignore the player (=payer) base.

I’m changing career to go and work for a game developer. It seems that you can get away with absolutely anything, keep your job, and play games.

Exactly my thought, it is their cash cow.

Also why the forums are being more severely moderated lately as more people are voicing their opinion.

Your FPS is 12 - 17 ?? Indoors mine is 100. In a large group, outside, the lowest it gets is 60.

That might not be all the Company that is your issue.

Outside, my FPS averages around 60. As soon as I get in a fight, it dips to 25, then back to 60. Then back to 25. It's basically impossible to plan a rotation.

And this is the only game that does this, online or offline. So no, it's not "just us".

I believe, it is mixed issue. Before Harrostorm, I had 40-60 on average. I do use addons, it may be the reason, and I use high setting on textures, even if I set everything else on minimum. But I do not like any other texture quality, and I only use addons, that are improving my Qol greatly. So, I try to balance between my perfomance, and my fun playing eso. My internet is good and stable, but perhaps, I just need better pc. The fact is, that recent updates worsened my perfomance too, is evident. But I do get less microfreezes since Greymoor.

This is the only game I play out of maybe 5-6 (including other MMO's) where my FPS goes below 30FPS, the optimisation is shocking and people have been saying this for years with no fix at all.

Refer back to my original post where the developers are no longer giving updates on this, there will be NO IMPROVEMENT in the future, I can guarantee it.

I largely agree, but the current drop in player numbers is explained mostly by the Corona situation. Many people have gone back to work/schools etc. over the past weeks - it has very little to do with the reception of the lastest release. Player numbers were the highest ever when this "crisis" peaked, and that would be explained by how perfect this game is, with the same logic.

This is the more likely explanation for those numbers. It's also important to recognize how working remotely drastically changes how operations on a product or service work. And for complex projects with a lot of moving parts, it becomes even more difficult to coordinate with the lack of face-to-face contact. Not impossible, but if you as an organization are not used to doing it, it is a huge, huge transition. Also very stressful when you're working against deadlines. As such, I'm simply not expecting perfection when the expansion releases next week. I'm expecting it to be a bit rougher around the edges than I'm used to. But I'm also expecting that not to be the case for other content moving forward as the team learns new processes for remote work that may sustain themselves for the rest of the year.

Technically it is just you, people with more powerful rigs dont have this big of a fps issue. Dont get me wrong the game can definetly be more optimized but a small dev team MMO this is the best you're gonna get unless they start dropping actual content releases for optimization when you could also just invest abit more into your computer to solve the issue on your side. New content is more important for this game otherwise it's gonna die out way too fast.

And I definetly agree with the fact that this chapter(DLC) seems abit lacking and they're hiding behind the ''year long content'' excuse.
Elsweyr was way better executed right at the start people had more to sink their teeth into. Plus it had the hype of a new class that was very much wanted by the players. Hopefully the dlcs that will get released will fix this but we'll see what happens.

I've had odd things like that happen to me too, like just getting into a room with a boss. I arrive right as another player kills it and I get credit for it. No loot, just credit.

there is no better MMO now. Wow is too grindy and demanding, not mentioning the pay per month model. GW2 sure is an option but it's extremely complicated with all their abilities and currencies. Any other MMO has a flaw that ESO covers.

and out of many, ESO is visually much more beautiful and appealing. Overall it has its flaws but i think that end of the line it has more points than other MMOs

They clearly say they are looking for other ways to share this information rather than the monthly blog and not just outright not share information anymore.

I agree that Greymoor is rather poor story and sizewise. ZoS will just blame Covid for it and act as if they are doing great. They are terrible at taking responsibility for messups.

Regarding the bugs there have always been countless in the game. Greymoor definitely added more than the usual chapter, but the bigger issue is that Stadia release that ZoS is apparently focusing a lot of attention on, changing patches to be every other week and so on. If I read this correctly the next patch won't be until the 16th which is kind of ridiculous considering how buggy the game is atm.

Indeed the changes introduced on server and skill checks made the experience even worse.

Before your skill always shot but the corpse of the NPCs were displaced due to latency in server checks.

Now our skills have to wait for server checks resulting on spamming the damn button and the thing does not go off... Damn feels 10 times worse than the displaced corpse!!!
