Should ESO do some sort of crossover event with TES6, if/when TES6 is released?

I am sure some of us Elder Scrolls fans are anxiously waiting for something, ANYTHING regarding TES6...but my question is, should Zeni try and do some sort of crossover event promoting both ESO and TES6, if/when TES6 is released?

Assuming TES 6 is after TESV, there are centuries separating the two time periods. I'm sure there all be promotions and easter eggs galore, but probably no outright crossovers.

1) TES6 won’t be out for three-four years at least, probably closer to five. Let’s hope ESO still exists by then.

2) While the rumor mill says that the gap between TES5 and TES6 won’t be that great (less then a century, perhaps), the gap between ESO and TES6 will be well over one thousand years. A justifiable “crossover” would be difficult.

3) I don’t think a crossover would benefit either game as a “who did it better” game will creep in. Let TES6 have their moment to shine.

They will probably release some cosmetic items in the crown store related to it and give us all a free pet or something.

Would not surprise me if they add a reward code of something to the purchase of TES6 that can be redeemed in ESO.

There marketing team will probably come up with some idea to try and get people to buy and play both but its a ways off yet doubt it will be some full fledged in game event though.

Some sort of token quest or quest chain that sets the stage for an event in TES6 would be nice. Like if we had to seal some monster or item away in a tomb that is later unearthed in 6, for example.

Couldn't care less about TES6.

We all know its going to be based on a highly improved creation engine providing 16 times the detail. And most likely it will contain some sort of cosmeting item store where you can buy mount armor.

I'd pick "No", but it's just a regular No, not a screaming OMG NO! like the choice in the poll. And I don't feel that strongly about it. /shrug

(also, as mentioned, it'll be a LONG time before TES 6 happens. We still don't even have details on the sci-fi game coming first. Which I've forgotten the name of. Because we haven't even seen any rumor articles.)

Personally, as a long time tes fan I don't expect anything good at this point. A new crownstore like feature to a sp game? Ah, it's already in skyrim. Surely then. Franchise becoming just a theme park recently and i wouldn't be surprised if some disney company will buy it eventually for some spin-off's.

And they probably would do a crossover of sorts, but why should we care about their marketing strategies anyway.

To be honest, I don't have much hope for any future game released by Bethesda anymore for a couple of reasons. What once was the company who motivated me to buy a next-generation console and pre-order games for the first time is now on my blacklist. [Snip]. I have little hope for what Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 are going to look like after witnessing the true nature of Fallout 76.

I'm sure they'll do some sort of promotion, like an item or maybe even a motif themed on TES 6. Anything more than that will be difficult because of the in-universe time difference, but it might be possible to do some foreshadowing, depending on what the plot of TES6 is.

For example if ESO had been released before Skyrim they could have included a quest or special event or something around the dragons and their cults as part of the buildup to Skyrim being released. (I was going to say they could even have set the dragon war during the second era instead of the first, since I don't think that info existed before Skyrim, so we could actually see it happening but I can't see a way to do that which wouldn't include massive spoilers for the plot of Skyrim, since the dragons origins and why they suddenly returned was meant to be a surprise.)

Similarly they could have done something about Mehrunes Dagon to foreshadow Oblivion (he has been suspicious quiet during ESO), or something with the Neverine prophecy for Morrowind etc.

There's not enough info yet on what TES 6 will be about to know what kind of thing would work, but I'm sure it would be possible to work something out.

I want a /itjustworks emote. I guess I am a Elder Scrolls Fan to some degree, as Morrowind and Oblivion are some of my favorite single player games, but I'm quite certain TES6 will be a dumbed down, bug ridden mess with a disgusting monetization scheme, so I don't really care.

I would vote no because of the time difference, but can see a very carefully threaded "prophecy" quest line that could link the two together in an awesome, lore-canon way. Or even a recent example from ES5: Skyrim.

Vaermina could make an appearance and the dream potion that allows you to "time travel" could link the two titles. A side quest in ES6 could be a shout out to a quest in ESO. For reference, the ES5:Skyrim quest I am referring to is Waking Nightmare.

ESO could release a special event/quest promoting ES6, and at the end of the quest players must decide 1 of 2 endings. The popular choice will then influence the events of of quest in ES6. Then in ES6, you will of course go back in time and relive the quest from ESO, with the ending that was decided by ESO! Or maybe the events that unfolded directly after ESO, as decided by the popular vote of ESO players.

Or... Since ES loves prophecies, there can be a quest in ESO that reveals a prophecy... which is the prophecy played out by the player in ES6.

Nah. It will be centuries after ESO for one. And for two, ES VI is like half a decade away or more lol.

it shouldnt require TES players to play eso not to miss something, but if some non essential stuff ties into each other, would be fun! maybe independent quests in same locations or such...
