New story idea

Dark elves and high elves 1000 years ago created a faction and left Tamriel for another planet. This planet is not in the TES universe atm, so it is a new planet, new zones, new story and new magic etc. This leaves ZOS to create something new and use their creativity more and we get more fantasy.

New skill lines

Dark Magic
Light Magic
Martial Arts

New race

A breed mixed of dark elf and high elf. Equinox.

New planet

Somewhere close to Tamriel but a very magical place among the stars. I don't have a name for this planet.

New story

Story begins with an Equinox elf landing on Tamriel, creating a big bang, portal, on Tamriel that leads to the new planet of the Equinox. This Equinox elf got a mission to go back to their homelands of Tamriel to seek answers about their forgotten ancestry and a new journey begins for us and to leave Tamriel for this new planet.

Well first, the only reason a lot of people play this poorly made mmo is because they're willing to ignore its flaws, due to their love for the TES setting. If you remove the "TES" skin, no one would play this game, which is more or less what you're proposing, and which leads to my second point.

It sounds like a vague description for a completely new setting, which is fine, but why wish that on something that has its own identity? Write a book about this idea, or make a comic, or get real entrepreneur like and make your own game, because what you want is not TES.

This would never be done. Especially not with parts of the map still missing.

This sounds like something that would happen in World of Warcraft

Wishful thinking, at best. They add a zone and a half a year. Look how little they've added since vanilla, and how much is left. At that rate, you'd get your dream in about 20 years.

    Better idea;

We end up being transported to the future, to the surface of Messer, home to the last survivors of a Tamriel destoryed by the Third Aldmeri Dominion and their losing war against the rampaging Numidium which is a) existing simultaneously in this time period and the end of the 2nd Era when Tiber Septim used it to fight the Second Aldmeri Dominion, b) discovered to be imbued with the souls of the entire Dwemer race, and c) is capable of harnessing the combined scepticism of the Dwarves to disbelieve its enemies, even Gods and Daedra, out of existence.

Your main mission would be to help Lady Vivec (yes, *that* Vivec, also yes, *Lady* Vivec) support her fiance as he undergos the trials that will lead to him achieving the state of CHIM, attaining awareness of the Godhead that created the Elder Scrolls universe while still maintaining his individuality within it, and in the climatic final battle, destroys the Numidium when he breaks the fourth wall and decapitates it with the Boss Health Bar.

At which point, the Dragon Break that made all this possible collapses, sending us back to the Second Era. The very nature of the circumstances will always lead to the question of whether the events you saw will still happen, or if the very act that saved that future also caused it to cease to exist, and even the fact that you are still somehow able to return actually leads to more questions than answers, as it seems that parts of the land are experiencing time in different ways...

Dark elves and high elves 1000 years ago created a faction and left Tamriel for another planet...
...which is where the idea breaks down already.
Since the universe tamriel exists in is not exactly... science-normal. So, basically... the only reachable "other planets" would be the ones within the mundus... or the ones floating through oblivion.
    518348a64c794a755d50432abe0c25d9.png

The one race that did actually "leave" the TES universe are the dwemer, and noone knows what happened to them at this point in time. Maybe someday they could return, many thousands of years after the second era... but that is for the developers to decide.
This leaves ZOS to create something new and use their creativity more and we get more fantasy.
Thing is, ZOS can only create "new" stuff that also exists in all later history.
There is a LOT they can do - we never got a glimpse into most oblivion planes, ZOS can do whatever they like there. Ditto for Akavir or any other off-tamriel places. Because while these places were never -seen- in TES gamnes, they -were- mentioned, and thus exist within the lore.

IF they weanted to do something new entirely... they also would have to think of some reason why that place could never ever be mentioned afterwards. And that would make it very, very difficult. Since everything major WOULD have to be mentioned in stories and lore...

And that is why they cannot just pull stuff out of their ars... uhm... nose.

But that matters little, because there is -way- more then enough places around for them to have fun dreaming up new stories for ESO in!

Maybe they will pick up some ideas alomng those lines someday... for some new TES game. Not gonna happen in ESO.

I mean, there is more then enough for them to do here. More then enough they can indulge in. More then enough stories that we know are going on, but haven't been told yet.
    • The redguards of hammerfell, and the growing rift between factions there (crowns and forebears).
    • The imperial remnant in Nibenay and Colovia, and their struggles to survive and rebuild.
    • The fractured nature of the pact, with only half or each race being members (western skyrim didn't join, house telvanni didn't join, many argonian tribes din't join).
    • The whole continent of akavir, whose invasion was only a mere ten years before ESO, and who might be busy prepping for the next on the three large islands between Tamriel and Akavir.
    • The maormer who really, really hate how their altmer cousins got the better of them by leading the dominion.
    • Criminals of all flavors taking advantage od the chaos in tamriel between soulburst and the fall of the empire, we had thieves and assassins, but who knows what pirates, smugglers, slavers, or whatever are up to?
    • All the hidden threats from the past that might take notice of the various bursts of magical energy being released (soulburst, planemeld, Molag getting his Bal kicked, Vivecs and Sothra Sils moments of artificially induced weakness, Crystal Tower shennannigans, Kaalgrontiids aeonstone focus blowing up, harrowstorms...)
    • All the other planes we know of where trouble might be brewing, be it sunken yokuda or frozen atmore, forgotten aldmeris or undersea Thras... and last but definitely not least, all the -other- daedric princes patiently waiting their turn to mess things up!
I see stories for a decade easily before they run out of leads in established lore and might have to think about inventing something entirely new which would vex a lot of lorehounds here...

Fun with C0DA lore aside, there is also the comfirmed lore that the sun and stars are actually holes in the Void created by the gods that fled Nirn shortly after its creation back to the realm of Aetherius (The sun being the hole make by Magnus, the god of magic and the most powerful of the deities who noped out of the Mundus) so there isn't actually another solar system to go to.

A planet within Tamriel's system is likely off-limits too, as the closest thing to a comfirmed lore answer for the other eight planets, named after the Eight Divines, is that they are in fact the very Eight Divines they are named for. But since mortals are unable to comprehend the raw, infinite size and power of the Aedra, much less how that infinite size and power is still somehow surrounded by the infinite Void, we instead see featureless star-like objects that are closer to Nirn than the actual stars.

Now, if you were to drop the Sci-Fi/Spelljammer aspect and instead of "planet" you went with "Daedric plane," then you might be on to something, but the likelyhood of a mortal civilization springing up in Oblivion without being the pet project of a Daedric Prince is *extremely* unlikely.

That's just me having some fun giving a rough outline of the C0DA, one of Michael Kirkbride's more insanely insane genius ideas.

Didn't really mean it as serious... but ever since they introduced the 37th Sermon of Vivec in Morrowind (which invokes more than a few things from the C0DA, like hiding the website's url in it and Vivec becoming female) who knows?

    P.S. Greymoor spoilers
there is a quest in Blackreach that actually involves timey wimey stuff happening, so the idea of potential time travel fun is already in the game...

There are several quests like that all over TES lore. In ESO, there is one in Bangkorai I recall... and of course the one in Glenumbra...

But yeah, its not unknown for Akatosh to mess up now and then, and generate such stories. Still, unlikely to happen in a large sense I reckon, because anything more then some one-quest mystery would once again be too noticable to happen without getting noticed in lore written for later periods...
