Why not just have pounce/carnage work off distance? (Werewolf change)

Ie. If you are within 8 meters just have carnage kick in and greater than 8 you pounce.

I'm assuming they were trying to squeeze in an execute to the one bar WW, but it doesn't seem cohesive to alternate pounce and carnage to achieve it. If it were just distance based on which activates it would serve the purpose of having a gap closer and execute for the WW

    Problem with having it based on distance is that as soon as another target comes in between you and the target you want to gapclose to, you'll use carnage instead of pounce.

    A better solution would be to have pounce always apply carnage, and then lower the execute scaling down to 300% instead of the current 450%.

    If someone gets between you and your target then you are just going to pounce them instead anyways... Regardless it's going to hit what you are targeted on

    That would be an interesting approach. I doubt werewolves would miss the extra execute damage much this patch and it would be less clunky than training myself to double-tap the pounce button. Would also be more tanking-friendly, for the Tormentor-based builds that taunt on Pounce but not Carnage.
