Performance issues aside I have to say the designers did a fantastic job on the environment and details! The zone looks amazing! Just did a quest within a meridian temple that was very reminiscent of Skyrim but looked amazing!!

And then when I left I saw a bear standing on its hind legs and scratching his back against a tree - whoever designed this, give him a bonus!!!

the art department is definitely a major strength of ZOS - for me one of the reasons I stick with ESO I like the aesthetics of the game especially because it sticks with these mixture or realism and impressionistic paintings - sometimes more leaning towards realism and in other places with an incredible impressionistic style - it is a piece of art in itself.

I agree. I especially liked the flat marsh area around Morthal. Its cool to be able to see so far into the distance without a bunch of stuff obscuring the view... usually the terrain is littered with hills and rocks that make the world feel kind of 'small' (maybe not right word)

I ❤ all of Greymoor...the landscapes, stories, bosses, harrow storms, antiquities, freakin everything is awesome.😊😊😊

I can't imagine having this much variety and fun on any other game.

Thank you for a positive post OP 😊
Im sure the devs need it....i feel for them.

Art direction has always been a strong point of ESO. Great architecture work, environmental story-telling and more. There is a lot of care, details and effort put in building a zone, and it shows. Also applies to quests and music. That's one of the main reason I play it, leaving aside the more "busy work" and grinding stuff.

Fact IS that the game is interesting in all points besides styability of gameplay.

    Undenayable fact. Great job thou.

However many other problems occur that hold people from playing right now ...
=> Many raid groups or just stopped making raids or other harder content - Gameplay stability is right now pack of garbage.

1.- desyncro in many aspects (vSS aoe statue , new trial, cyro, some instances )
2.- ping jumps on some server from 110 to over 300 - 400 (leaving entering few times when it matches you to diffrent server sometimes help )

I have been defending ZOS for a long time, but trial sets are trash, overland sets are trash, mythic items are trash. overall this update brings nothing new to the table just useless junk.
It's a real shame, all the tools were there to make this update awesome with the awesome visuals and the great ideas(hell i didnt even care about the vmael change). But the [snip] developers/game balance team continue to balance the game around the lagfest pvp [snip]storm and me and a lot of other people are getting tired of it.

Heres to hoping they fix their dumpster fire of a chapter

Incredible environment and details totally ruined by input delay and ZERO difficulty on overland and main quest. As always. Nothing new here.

White bears could be seen scratching their backs in Wrothgar all these years

But I agree, people who design wild life in ESO never fail my expectations <3 Every new zone adds some interesting behavior for mobs/critters.
New interesting behavior is, for example, Elk/deer critters who eat bark from trees in new zone. I didn't explore much for now, but there are also bears who can be seen eating someone's (deer?) carcass together.

Also, this time simple old Durzog mobs sound 1000 times coller than brand new Death Hounds :( Durzog shows how to idle and howl like a boss:

The value of death hounds decreased from minimal to literally zero for me... :'(

I was also pleasantly surprised that the overland is not as crowded as I feared, so it's actually possible to feel lost in time and snow there (love those moments of peace and silence):

I agree OP, loosing track of time while questing, wandering off and stumble on a side quest, it gives me the Skyrim feel.

Also, apart from day 1, the zone does not feel too crowded. I often am all alone at certain places.

Sometimes I just stop to absorb the environment and music. Seeing a Harrowstorm in the distance feels quite epic.

Still in love with this game.

I had to force myself to go to sleep at 3.30 am. Really did not want to stop, but well, sleep is important too, and today is another day to explore. 👍
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

If only the engine would allow a half-decent draw distance without fog everywhere.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

RTGI (emulated ray tracing) + reshade + fog remover (from Daybreak module).

    Enjoy.

I just want a father draw distance for the grass. I hate watching it grow in front of me as I travel around.
