Antiquities - Digging Depth Perception

I'm finding I'm having trouble with the depth perception of the many layers of the dig sites. Figuring out how high a level of stones and then how deep a tool can dig with 1 or 2 charges is challenging without a depth perception reference. I have had to draw myself a picture to keep it all straight. Perhaps the addition of a depth metre on the side of a dig site that tells you the height you will excavate when you hover over areas would be beneficial to add in future reviews of Antiquities Dig Sites.
