stress and FOMO inducing marketing for geerymore

Why the marketing for Greeymore is so heavy and demanding from us to purchase the chapter before it's official release?
Full of advertisements of all kinds: cinematic (fake) and gameplay(minimal exposure) videos all over describing the chapter as the best thing yet in ESO

why there are not a single mention for the performance fixes arriving with the chapter?
why buying the game before it's release gives the buyer extras such as mounts?

Why as a player, I am in a lose-lose situation if I choose to buy the chapter the day it's released?
why is it a disadvantage for me to buy the product after it's feedback?

I saw earlier a dev saying that if you purchased the 2018 version of a car doesnt mean you get the 2020 version for free
then what would he recommend for me now with the same logic? buy the 2021 version of the car before it's release? (buying greymore before it's release) ???

these are some of the questions haunting me and liked to share with the community to see reactions and responses..

What are you even talking about? The car thing is related to old arena weapons not being auto upgraded. Are you rly stressing and losing your mind about a video game, in which you dont rly lose at anything?

I don't understand how you think this (Greymoor's launch) is different from every other expansion launch in the history of PC gaming.

You can do what I'll be doing - wait a few months until it goes on offer, and enjoy the questing after the horde of release-week players has moved on.

Those rewards on preorder of anything is meant to lure you in for early sales numbers in every product since preorders became a thing. They took consumers own mental vulnerability of having to be the first and expanded on it.

Yes; it's a ploy to extract money before the product meets judgment, but any stress caused by it comes from your own head.

I think stress comes from the point of losing pre-order horse mount.
I personally don't like how horses are animated in ESO and character sits on them in unnatural pose, so I don't care about pre-ordering Greymoor. But if there was beautiful senche or wolf, I will be stressed too. Not to the point to create thread about it, but still it is manipulation from ZOS - you won't be able to receive that mount ever.

    It is marketed as such.

Pre-order, don’t pre-order; buy Greymoor, don’t buy Greymoor. What is there to get stressed about? Who cares what you do? Why post about it?! 😂

Seriously, this is just a game. A diversion from the chaotic madness that is real life at the moment. Chill.

Making questions that will bring in the Damage Control Party in real early. Sadly people people here will pre order blindly knowing that this game performance has really not improved from launch at all and now it’s just gotten worse than before. Why? people like being part of something and feel that if they do not show Zenimax their loyalty with the preorder, that sad Zeni will take the game down. Remember how Fallout 76 was huge dumpster fire? all loyal fans preordered and Bethesda thought it was getting away with it easily.

People need to stop being naive thinking they will be recognized by a company for doing the same thousands of others do, at this point you are just a figure in a quarterly report. Be a responsible buyer and demand quality performance from your live service. If you don’t have that quality of service then do not pay any further. If Devs want that 2020 money then they should sit and get those issues fixed that been around since 2014.

I know, right? I've been pre-ordering things for offered bonus goods since the 90's.
(of course, back then it was closet-clutter like posters, keychains, and calendars.)

I honestly didn't notice anything different or high-pressure about this launch compared to any others. (Actually, I've barely noticed any ads for it. I come here to the forum, and all there is, is that red "Buy Now" button up top. Very few articles on the web pages I read, no ad banners. . . /shrug)

Do you want to get access to the stuff of Greymoor on Day 1?
Start grinding out the gear from Kyne's Aegis?
    Start leveling up Antiquities?

If not, just buy it on sale later.

Personally, I waited a couple weeks to start questing in Summerset anyway so the crowds of questers died down.

    @Ysbriel
What if I am happy with how the game is playing for me? Is it ok for me to pre-order then? (Though can’t anyway as on ps4 🤣🤣)
And yes, do pvp & trials 😛

And as @Kiralyn2000 said, this has been a thing for AGES in games. AGES. So not some devious plot of ZOS to get your money.

After having a million mounts and outfits, I really don't care for those incentives. You indirectly answered your own question. If people had the incentive after, if the patch drops and is crap, buggy as hell, then they are going to make less. So they push to get it before you see the product. For me, i'm waiting a couple of months and enjoying being more active irl

Well, I mean - technically it is a plot to get your money. Same as any advertising campaign or sale. It's just not anything new. :D

It's still in your head, though. You'll be fine without it. I really wanted the nord hero costume but refused to pay during the state of gameplay right now. The only power we have as consumers is to speak with our wallets.

I'm not buying, I've noticed everything get nerfed by the time I get it golded out. Do you need to buy the chapter to test the blood scion?

I have a really nice Asmodian Gladiator statuette from Preordering Aion's CE, and a CD of the OST.

Every player gets to weigh the pros and cons of pre-ordering versus waiting a few days/weeks/months/a year to play the content.

ZOS just wants to put as much stuff in the "PRO" column as they can, as they always have.

I pre-ordered the actual game because it gave me access to "any race, any alliance", which was only made available again years later, lest you think pre-order bonuses are something new here.

So really, you need to weigh all of this according to your own measures. Nobody can tell you what will make you happier: pre-ordering and getting the mount, or waiting till you are satisfied with performance to buy it then (or even waiting a year until it's included in ESO+ like previous chapters were).

No. The Vampire rework is base game.
