Dark Cloak - how good is it?

I'm thinking to take the Dark Cloak instead of Shadowy Disguise on my Nightblade after the vampire revamp comes live because I'll already have an invisibility with it.
How good is this skill to trade it instead the classes signature skill, no longer being able to instantly become invisible if all goes right?
Is the heal the best self-heal in the game or somewhere close or not worth taking?

The heal scales of your max health, and is really strong for tanks with a lot of health (also grands minor protection and major resolve). So it really depends on what you play (I dueled some magblade who used it and he wrecked me, not that I am good in pvp so )

The heal kinda sucks to be honest. Magblades can do well in duels because you can stack it up with multiple hots and lots of mitigation, but there's still no burst heal for the class so in open world or BGs if you get a spike of damage coming in from multiple people you dont have many options.

It'd be interesting if dark cloak was more like coagulating blood.

It's good if you stack it with rapid regeneration and swallow soul, what i don't like is that rapids can heal someone else instead of you if they are "nearby". Its range is quite huge and i wish it worked only as a self heal.

Ask yourself this, if you take Invisibility out of the equation, what does NB has that any other classes don't?

Is NB the best healer? No... Is NB the best tank? No... Is NB the best support? No... Does NB have the most AoE damage? Not even close... Does NB have the best single target damage? Not anymore...

So what does NB has that other classes don't? The only skill in the game that make you invisible on demand.

If you are not going to have Shadowy Disguise, you rather play a Sorc to be honest. Everything a NB can do, a Sorc can do it better...

Willing to swap shadow skill tree with daedric summoning for my sorc tank.

Let's swap everything but Cloak. Imagine how juicy would be streak, burst healing, cloak and having pets at the same time 🤤.

As I said, the only reason to pick a NB is having invisibility on demand. If he is not going to use it, he rather just pick another class...

A MagBlade without invisibility is just a crippled MagSorc.

A StamBlade without invisibility is just a crippled StamSorc.

Let me put it this way; Dark Cloak isn't a bad skill, it's actually an alright skill, it's just that Shadowy Disguise is one of the best skills in the game.

With the press of one button you...
    1. Deny your opponent knowledge of your positioning (element of surprise like no other)
    2. Engage OR disengage AT WILL into any fight you like or don't like.
    3. Suppress all DoT damage, while HoTs continue to tick.
    4. Automatically "dodge" any attack currently in-flight on mid-animation, negating it's damage completely
    5. Grant yourself a guaranteed crit on your next attack, to be used at your discretion on your most damaging attack, including ults.
    6. Trigger any number of proc sets that require being in or attacking from stealth, something which was previously only possible once per engagement.

It is simultaneously the single most powerful offensive AND defensive skill in the entire game.

As an aside, it's also responsible for the state NB was in before (as brokenly OP) and now (as nerfed as they are) because you inherently cannot balance on-demand invisibility in a game like this, nevermind one that also comes with bonuses like free crits and DoT suppression.

Nighblade is best at being nerfed to the ground each time some whiners complain about something PvP.
