Lagg Spikes & Droping for game. (Now Unplayable)

For the last few hours, I randomly get a lagg spike, which ping hits 999 & then drop from game.
Or if it doesn't drop from game i have 20-30 secs where I can't do anything.
Anyone else having this happen?

UNPLAYABLE! Now I can't do anything in-game. 30 sec delay on everything, Then 999 ping drop from game... WITW!

Play the PTS and invite your friends. They need a population to test server lag and the game runs smooth enough on it.
If you don't bring friends though you'll be by yourself begging RPer's for duels.

Worst I have seen ping in my 5 plus years playing outside of Cyro. In PVE this is completely unacceptable. I've hit 400 - 500 in cities today, and over 1 - 2k spikes in dungeons. What the heck is going on with these AWFUL servers?????

They should really use the "carrot" approach to lure players to the PTS.

Add unique motifs drops (or mounts, pets, etc.) for every hour played on the PTS and you would see the participation numbers skyrocket.

The pts is for testing new content, ESO has had persistent issues since launch with not a hint of fixing anything in sight

I get ping in game bouncing from 200 to 6000 a few times/week. usually doesn't drop me to login, but has 3 times this week, and just 1/2 an hour ago.

This is happening for me too. I thought it was on my end, but ppl in my guild says the same is happening for them. Now I got kicked from game and I'm stuck in the "Requesting Character Load" pop up from the character select screen.

I was trying to make new armor for my new DK.

Im having the same issue on xbox NA.

Im putting the game down tonight in hopes it will be better tommorow, but it was a massive struggle even doing my daily writs.

Its funny, i just came back to the game after my seasonal hiatus. Im seeing more and more reasons to drop it for another couple patch cycles.

I bought graymoore already and wont pursue a refund. But this chapter is supposed to be all about performance improvements. . . At the expense of pretty much everything else. If we dont see some real improvements me and about 25 others are all giving up eso for good.

I am having the same problem. I've turned off all my addons and I'm still spiking up to 999 and then disconnected. This started around 4:00 pm EST in BGs, but looks like it's all the time for me...

This is what you pay for my man:) glad I stopped paying and playing couple years ago. Seems like only an exercise in frustration and broken promises:)

Yikes. Ping tonight is absolutely awful. Unhallowed Grave has been a disaster. First attempt healer got disconnected. After that, our ping kept shooting up over 1000 for each of us. We were all rubberbanding, adds and bosses spinning in circles, mechanics taking multiple seconds after animation before happening, etc. Grappling was very iffy. We wiped on Keeper of the Kiln because the fire mechanic happened and even though boss was standing over the correct symbols, it took way too long for the sword slam to happen.

For the first time in ever, I had to quit a solo dungeon just now because it was too laggy. Then I froze twice walking through Hollow City and got kicked to desktop. I've only been playing a year (PC NA), but this by far the worst I've ever seen it

Or, they'd have to enforce some kind of activity from people in order to prevent leeching; but then lots of people would just abuse the system with all kinds of BS-reports, which eventually would only serve to overwhelm the devs.

They can already measure the performance on the live servers. I have no doubt in my mind that ZOS is already aware of the issues, but it's not one of the priorities to sort out; it doesn't generate a good enough return.
A few years ago, sure, but they dropped the ball on that one (since most people from that group category already left) and now they have no incentive to fix it.
They have a new group category to attend to.

This appears to be regional? Maybe the mid-Atlantic? My vAS IR prog is impossible when we can't see mechanics because we're lagging. At least 3 of us are in the mid-Atlantic.

Well gulf coast and exact same issues as described. Been doing it all day and I never have connection issues. I think it on their end. Calling it a night and hope they get their act together tomorrow.

Tomorrow? You meant next year? We (PC EU) have problems of varying magnitude since Elsweyr landed, and well, we are still waiting for ZOS to act

Cyrodiil is practically unplayable 20 out of 24 hours of the day since Christmas. It could have been going on longer than that, but I've only been playing since then.[snip]. To think that this problem has persisted for months while the only public face this game has, the streamers and youtube videos, are all complaining about this day in and day out, is mindbogling. And the excuse that this is because of COVID19 is absurd.

Our group had to quit Unhallowed Grave today. Unplayable. Couldn't' even grapple. You would fall to your death before the server caught up. Same thing happened last week when it was a pledge. Rather sad and ridiculous.

I play from Australia so i am used to 250+ latency but two weeks ago i noticed redlining and constant 400+. I tried a vpn which seemed to help a bit but after last weeks maint it is worse than ever, even with the vpn.

I contacted my isp and they have conducted tests, everything looks fine, even the tests to the game servers show 260ish.
They suggested contacting ZOS, I laughed to myself, yeah that'll help.

Ended up calling it a night last after getting kicked about 5 times. It wasn't my internet connection, as I was still able to use discord and my husband was able to play a different game on the xbox.

I did have a patch this morning, although the banner on the forum said there wasn't one for pc... Fingers crossed things are better today.

EDIT: Just realizing the patch was for the PTS, so nvm.

I tried to play Unhallowed Grave yesterday, my average latency is 160ms. In Unhallowed Grave my latency indicated a +999 and after several wipes I apologised to my party and explained it was not going to happen with my bad network connection. As I had more pledges to do, I pugged up for Wayrest Sewers II and there was no issue at all, my ping kept below 200 and there was no rubberbanding or other kind of delays. So I tried to pug up for Unhallowed Grave normal mode again, got matched with a good group that obviously had done it before, knew what to do, but the latency was spiking up again to a +999! I felt so bad to have said sorry again and left this group as well. I was not the only one complaining about the terrible latency either, and it was not just me laying dead on the floor there, we just had wipe after wipe.

Is Unhallowed Grave hosted on another server than other dungeons or something?

you actually believe they care about serv lags? yikies my dude.PCEU been unplayable at prime time for anything where there's more than 4 players for a few months already. would've been fixed if they were to do that kind of ***.
