I find it funny you have to have Rank 10 just to use a motif for fashion lol. Or am I the only one?

It's one of those weird things.

Also despite having the ....whatever the passive is that lets you get "the most" out of your deconstruction, if you also have 10 in the main rank/materials you do get a lot more back
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yeah I found that always weird you should just be able to consume your motifs it kind of forces someone to have to level up the crafting skill lines just to wear outfits.

Well, the particular motifs that require certain crafting ranks (Ancient Elf, Barbaric, Primal, Daedric) are more than just outfit styles.
They are also crafting motifs for armor and weapons, so while being a huge pain in the backside if you don't have a crafter character, it does kinda sorta make sense that you would need a certain level of skill to craft armor and weapons in some motifs.

ALTHOUGH... the logic behind whatever... "flavor"... they intended to infuse into the game with that criteria isn't consistent, given that there are currently 89 numbered crafting motifs in the game, and a crafting rank is required for JUST those four.

When the game was new those four motifs were the only purple ones, so it made sense at the time. But now it's just silly.

    Ah.
    Thanks for that info.
I came late to the party (didn't start playing ESO until 2018), so I didn't know that.

Yes, back then the purple books was rare and expensive and you could only use them for crafting so it made sense you could only use them for crafting characters.
Denmer was the first who used pages, this was continued with later motifs.
