Using one account for both Xbox and PC?

theboz1419_ESO
From what I have read on the forums, it's possible to have both an xbox account and pc account with just one account. My issue is when I log into my ESO account, not the game, on my computer browser I can see that my xbox account is linked in the settings. But, when I try to log into the game software on the PC, I can not figure out my log in information.

It will give me the option to view account and I clock on that link and it takes me to my account. Also, even though , I have a ESO+ account through the Xbox, it does not show that I have an active account on the computer, as there is no billing information to reflect that. That also could be because I have the eso account through the xbox.

I really dont care if I cant use eso+ on the computer, I just want to be able to log in and see if my computer could even handle playing ESO and I wanted to play around with some of the Addons.

Anyways, I need to get to sleep, so if you reply I thank ya in advance, lol.

Greetings @theboz1419_ESO this article may be able to help if you are able to log into our site but not the game itself.

Did you purchase a separate PC game, @theboz1419_ESO?

    That's the key question here.

I'm guessing that you already know from your forums reading there is no cross-platform capability on ESO.

If you did purchase a separate PC game, then start an Online Support ticket for help.

I already have the game on my computer, just not able to log in. I was able to down load the game via my ESO+ account. I know it's not cross platform. In fact I should have character or two already on the computer, from when I was doing Beta and when I came back to play again a few years later.

Did you transfer your original account and characters to console? As I understand it, you need a separate account for each platform in order to play on both. The best way of doing what you want to do is to take advantage of a free trial when they have one and create a separate account for the PC and run that through the trial. If you like what you find then you can buy a PC version for that account. Alternatively, if you don't want to wait, just go ahead and buy the game anyway as it's pretty cheap in its simplest form these days.

It says you only need one account to have both the pc and xbox. I'm not asking to transfer anything. I just want to create a character or if I can get back my original character I had a long time ago. I still mainly want to play on the xbox.

You can always try a Support ticket or Online account recovery, @theboz1419_ESO ... and see if ZOS can find it for you.

I can confirm this is correct, but you do have to have purchased both. Similar to yourself, I transferred to console and returned to PC which means I did own both versions of the game. I had to 'reactivate' my PC account:

    https://help.bethesda.net/app/account_recovery/p_id/eso
    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48788/~/how-do-i-activate-an-existing-eso-account?

I hope that helps. If you have any further trouble, you're better off creating a supporting ticket. Good luck!

edit to add: one more thing (I did this first time around ) it's your eso account credentials you log into the game with, not your microsoft account
