I suggested this as a reply to a previous thread, but figured it may be better to start a new topic.

I would like to know the community’s thoughts about introducing an added function of the crafting bag: stowing your crafting surveys.

    I'd support it.

    So would I!

Inventory management issues ruin the game for me.

See no problem with it, would not mind the same option for extra furniture as well.

Would not mind being able to sell the surveys like treasure maps on guild traders though, a lot of those buying the raw mats are just doing it to refine them for upgrade mats.

See no issue selling the surveys direct and having them harvest the mats themselves saving me time and giving them access to the mats that would just stay in survey form sitting in my bank till I could be bothered to go out and harvest them.

I would worry that the surveys would be consumed accidentally by alts that weren't intended to use them. There's lots of bulk items I'd like to have better places to stow, and surveys are among them, but bank serves me fine for now. If there were something like this implemented, I would prefer if they didn't activate unless in my main bag.

A valid point. My assumption is that you don’t want to consume a survey on mats that are under the max level?

If that is the issue, wouldn’t it be pretty obvious that you were about to harvest mats that aren’t max level? “If it isn’t red, don’t harvest it” basically?

Not always. I have a lot of alts that are CP160, but min-rank on crafting passives, so they get Tier 1 50% of the time. I can't remember how that impacts surveys. Either way, I'd prefer to have control over usage, whatever the storage medium is.

Ahh I see. Thank you for the clarification. That makes sense. Personally, I would take the stow option even if that issue wasn’t addressed. But a valid concern nonetheless.

It’s not difficult to tell you have come across a survey location, considering they are all clusters of six nodes in close proximity. If you hit a survey with a below max level crafting character, it will be doubly obvious for gear craft materials, since exactly half will be character level and half crafting level. If you don’t want to consume the survey with a particular character, don’t have them harvest any of the nodes in that location.

I would just be happy if treasure chest maps would stack

    IMHO
