I want better first-person visuals for Mist Form

fxeconomisteb17_ESO
Ok, I understand now, some mobs can get me out of it, but...

When I'm in first person I can't always tell the Mist Form has been breached. I have to actually look if I see my hands, and that is time lost.
What I want, is a clear visual effect on the margin of the screen to tell me I was pushed away from Mist Form. I don't think it's such a radical change.

Maybe...just...play in third person as the game should actually be played?

This game was built around Third Person, only reason why they added first person was players expected to have that option and likely demanded it so they added it along with Vampires and Werewolves.
I don't think they take First person into consideration when they design combat skills because the mechanics are designed around a Third Person Combat Based System.
Its not something they are going to invest in much and they really have not invested in First Person other then basically adding the option. Its only there for those types of players that want to use first person mode.

It's entirely subjective. Also I don't remember where I read/watched it but I'm pretty sure early on in game development they said they wanted players to be able to tell what effects they had on them purely based on screen effects with no changes to the UI, in both third- and first-person views.

And to OP, the effect that's on live is still in effect on the PTS, with the addition of the little red swooshing going on. There's a light smoke effect emitting from the edge of the screen.

When the game was in development there was no first person. Then the turd known as Skyrim dropped and they felt they needed to add skyrim'eske stuff to eso to pull more people in so they tossed it in even tho its very bad for the fast paced combat of eso

Every other Elder Scrolls game had first-person view, so I doubt Skyrim was the sole motivator to include first-person and probably more to do with people saying it didn't feel like an "Elder Scrolls" experience. And from what I've read the first-person view I was introduced to when I started in 2015 was much better than what they initially implemented in 2013 (they didn't have hands?), so they obviously improved on the option and didn't just one-and-done it to appeal to the most casual players.

Even now, there are some areas in the game where I find a first-person camera advantageous, like tanking in a corner, getting screenshots, picking pockets, and looking at my hands.

The game was developed initially around third-person but this has alienated the players. Not just the "turd known as Skyrim" but many others like me were turned off. I find Skyrim graphically beautiful and it has a lovely music, but it has nothing of the gameplay that Oblivion offered. Hell, it took me two weeks to become archmage in Oblivion as opposed to a few hours in Skyrim. And the generation before me that loved Morrowind said that was even better than Oblivion and it was still first person. So it was quite wrong to try to sell a third person game to a first person crowd. We are in 2020 now, and aside from ESO the only other mmo that I think it has first person is Black Desert Online, though bad implemented. It really puts the question what the hell did the industry do for so much time ? Even the new and acclaimed New World is third person, but that's Eve Online-ish...

But on a funny note, I see Greymoor now as "Skyrim with a good combat system"...

Exactly that's the thing. The effect is simply too weak. I would like to see it more colorful, more like a flash of light on the margins, something to make me aware.

I don't play 3rd person titles anymore. The last that was on my computer until not too long ago was Path of Exile. Really,
couldn't even keep Witcher 3 too much. I have to be in the action, or there's no fun at all, because I don't feel the immersion.
I can't play third person because of that. Or to be a "soldier assistant" like in Gears of War or Anthem...

I rarely go third person. Difficult dungeons, or if I go PvP in Cyrodiil. I'm here to have fun. Enjoy the scenery, do delves and public dungeons, live in a different world...

Eso is a mmo based around fast combat and combat with many, many enemies at once so first person is ultimately hurting yourself by severely limiting you view. So many people we obsessed over skyrim that when they heard of eso they were hoping that it would essentially be skyrim online and the devs had to throw some extra things in to woo them vs just finishing what they had. Skyrim was based on a single player game so first person made far more seance.

Side note they only good thing skyrim had was visuals but it was so dumbed down from previous games that it left a taint that will last possibly forever (there are many other issues with skyrim but i dont have days to rant about it)

It is as you say. I have peculiar problems with AoE circles. That's why I even go 3rd person in tough dungeons. However, if you'd be on a medieval battlefield, you wouldn't have 3rd person. You'd barely see anything with your own eyes thru the openings of the helmet.
