Just wanted to share a homebrew "hybrid" build I've been playing a lot lately in BG's which works surprisingly well in most matches. The main idea behind this build is to deal damage whenever you're not dealing damage, and focuses on offensive even when you're going defesive. With this build i usually get pretty high BG score. Not only from kills, but often tons of assists as well.
Gear
2x Infernal Guardian. (1heavy 1 medium)
5x Morkuldin (light)
5x Torugs Pact. (weapon and jewlery)
Traits:
Whatever floats your boat. I went on Well fitted on most pieces, since i roll dodge quite a bit for defense.
on Jewlerey i went for 2x bloodthirsty since i'm not slotting any execute skill. 1x infused with stamina regen.
Skills Main bar:
1. Frost Ring (main spammable)
2. Dark Conversion
3. Bound Armaments.
4. Elemental Blockade
5. Spiked Bone Shield.
U. Precognition
Weapon Main bar:
Infused Frost staff with Shock Glyph.
Mundus:
Lover. Too many people running impen and a good portion of the damage from sets doesnt crit anyway, adds a little bit extra punch to your morkuldin and Spiked bone shield as well.
Race:
Imperial
Food: Orsogas Triffle pocket. (Stamina regen)
Backbar:
Here you can put whatever you feel like. I only use backbar for utility and rarely switch over at all unless in special situations. Some utility skills i like to keep on backbar is.
* Daedric Tomb, to place in chokepoints etc when possible.
* Silver Leach, to pull singles out of group.
* Volcanic Rune, for more chokepoint annoyance.
Why such an odd build? That can't be effective?
So let's go through the choises one by one and why I chose them.
Q: Frost staff but why??
A: Pretty simple. Cost reduction to block, I block quite a bit, blocking also creates a small little damage shield from Psijic Passive, which also has a chance to trigger the Infernal Guardian proc. So it goes of quite often even when I'm going defensive. You could go with other staff but since the Mag pool is sligtly bigger it seemed like the better option. The difference in damage is minimal.
Q: Frost Ring? as spammable)
A: Yes. Targeting in BG's and PvP can be a pain, especially if some low health target hides within his group using them as meat shield. Spamming this one on a group you're bound to hit low health targets as well, and if you're lucky hit them with the weapon enchantment as well. Very effective when groups ball up and you have trouble targeting since it's ground based. You might even get someone hiding behind something.
Q: Morkuldin, Really? that's a stam set.
A: Yes the stats are more stam oriented but the effect itself make up for the lost dps, as it's basically a pet/dot that will follow your target around, even if they hide behind corners, and it's a pretty good pressure set. You only have to land one light attach then this one will do damage even if you're blocking, roll dodging, running away, or doing something else.
Q: Spiked bone shield? there are way better shields for a magsorc
A: Yes there are, but none of them returns damage. This one i try to keep up at all times hence why I go for pretty high stamina regen on my sorc. With so many dizzy swinger, sweeps, and Nb's lurking around this one will return quite a bit of damage if they ever come near. You'd be surprised how many kills i get with this skill alone because people blindly jump you and start spamming. With high stamina regen I can spam this skill for quite a while whenever i'm jumped by someone. They reduced range of this skill, but can still be very effective against ranged if you get close enough, then it still does damage back. Shard Spammers and bowtards bewere, I'm roll dodging to you. Since I'm keeping this one up constantly it's bound to trigger infernal guardian very often as well which is another plus.
Q: Elemental blockade? That skill does almost no damage at all!
A: Correct, but with torugs pact it does quite significant damage with the weapon enchantment as long as someone is standing inside it. You'd be surprised of often people don't bother moving out if this low damage skill and before they know it a good chunk of the health is gone. In many cases you can drop this one down, block or roll dodge, an try to keep your target within the zone of death. With frost staff it has a small chance of immobilazing people also wich is fun
Q: Bound armaments? Hmmmm
A: Well, my main defense is roll dodging and spike bone shield, so a bit extra pool, and stamina regen from passive is needed. And it has a benefit of increasing the damage of both your and Morkuldin light attacks.
Q: Dark conversion?
Yeah i went with the stamina morh here as well since my stamina regen is already pretty high. I don't need much mag regen at all as whenever I'm out i just spam this one a couple of times to get back to full.
Here's an image of one of my best games. If team has lot of execute i will get way less kills but more assists. Survavability is surprisingly good in most situations, if you keep the shield up and roll dodge and block when necessary.

I'll try to do a video at some point but I'm playing on a fairly low spec laptop so game is getting a bit sluggish when I try.
