Malacath ring,"blood thirsty" trait, additive interaction.

I checked "Malacath ring" , it seems to me that it functions like any other "damage done" buff in the game in the sense that the bonus is Multiplicative with other "damage done" increase buff,s as far as I can tell.

However, "Malacath ring" is also equipped with The blood thirsty" trait and based on my testings, the interaction between the Malacath ring" buff and the "blood thirsty" trait buff , is additive other than Multiplicative. Which results with very big damage numbers.

Am I missing something? Is this how the "blood thirsty" trait behaves on live as well? Is this a bug or intended?

That's because all damage buffs are additive. In general if they increase something they are additive to avoid number explosion and if they decrease something they are multiplicative in order to achieve diminishing returns.

I could have been wrong with my description, but this is not the point.

Point is, that "Malacath ring"+The blood thirsty" trait(35% damage buff), will do more damage compared to "Malacath ring" + Bird of Prey+Advanced Species passive(35% damage buff).

Should have been the same but it doesn't, so I think something is odd with the interaction.

bloodthirsty is multiplicative, not the band, always has been, part of what makes that trait worth using.

Advanced Species and Bird of Prey are also additive with CPs, as well as some weapon passives. So you’re probably comparing something like

    1.4 x (1 + 0.25 + 0.1) = 1.89

    vs

    (1.4 + 0.1) x (1 + 0.25) = 1.875

Where the 40% is other sources of damage done, the first equation is 1 Bloodthirsty and the 2nd is BoP with Advanced Species, both with the Ring of Malacath
