[PC EU] Your "Quality-of-life" change made "some" trading guilds to require a "FEE" after 6 years

What were you thinking ZOS? or did this idea come from the guy whose childhood was ganked by stealthy bosmer nightblade so he wanted to ruin one more thing?

From the member side; the circulation of people in guilds are unbelievable, there are no "casual" and fun people in guilds now as they don't want to/not afford to pay fee. Now every average member needs to play the game "to sell something more to pay the fee" so he/She can stay in the guild that he/she was in for years.

Let's look at the picture;
  1. Craglorn : all"some" request fee after 6 years
  2. Rawlhka : all"some" request fee after 6 years
  3. Vivec : all"some" request fee after 6 years
  4. Mournhold: all"some" request fee after 6 years
  5. Elden Root: all"some" request fee after 6 years

Let's say you were an average trader with having not much time to play vidya. You love eso, you like trading and you were in 5 guilds in each major city for 6 years. Grats; now you have to pay 50k weekly minimum every week. And now you have to stop your routines/Role playing and need to earn more.

All done after your precious quality-of-life u23 change. This is not a fee is nonsense talk, it was necessary act else GMs can say goodbye to their favorite locations. I do not believe a GM can survive without fee in PC EU right now. As do not forget 10+ trading guilds are disbanded/gone in just "1 year" after u23 fiasco due to this nonsense

Note: Don't make cliche 50k is not much. It is high. Not for you, not for me yes but not all of us swimming in gold.
Note2: I have enough gold to survive in 50 guilds for a life time and I can buy 50m+ in weekly easily. Make some empathy with more common people.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful here, I just don't understand. Why do you feel the need to be a member of *five* premium trading guilds if you consider yourself an "average" trader and don't sell a lot?

In my Mourhold guild, 50k is the sales requirement. If you donate directly it's less.
But I agree, you don't need to be in 5 trading guilds at once.

As for me, I don't like the fact, that the guilds change their placement every week almost randomly. Rare guild stays at the same place for long. This really makes it painful to find the guilds you used to buy from.

I also hate the fact, that the two guilds I was in disbanded because of this change. They were nice guilds too and I miss being an active member there. But I can't say for sure that it was exactly this change that made them disappear. I guess, this was brewing for some time.

On the other hand, the argument with fees is still weak, IMHO. If you stay in top guilds that require decent fees, you probably also make some decent money. Those who can't afford 10k fee weekly per guild shouldn't be members of top trading guilds. Calling valid conunter arguments as "cliche" doesn't make them less valid

I agree, that we get fewer casual players in top trading guilds and we rarely get casual talk in top trading guild chats. But this trend started even before the update that introduced the new trader system.

In general, I as well see more disadvantages to this new system, than advantages.

    I'm in 5 guilds....

One is a fairly high quality trader that almost always has a spot in a good place. No minimum, but donations encouraged. Fairly active, fun guild chat and if I'm buying something often I can get it there. Fairly regular lotteries - I actually won one once, but mostly just buy tickets to support them.

One is a formerly huge, now fairly medium PvP guild; has a trader more often than not. Some semi-regular trading. I've only ever PvPed minimally, but I have had fun doing occasional runs with them.

One is a medium very fun guild has a trader more often than not. Very fun people, supportive when RL issues crop their heads up.

One is a fishing guild because ... Fishing!

One is a social guild that technically has a store, but few folks post, and things rarely sell. But they are awesome in terms of activities, support, and there are things going on pretty much every day of the week; recently they had a housing contest. Regularly they will pick a zone and do all the delves and activities.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Lul why should a cp 56 guy join a craglorn toxic reseller guild? If you want to join a social guild, do it. Your literally don't make any sense.

I fail to understand how it's ZOS' fault that some guilds require fees from members. According to you this started after update 23.

Here is my experience: out of the 5 guilds I'm a member, 3 have kiosks most of the time (I can't even remember the last time one of them went a week without a trader). None charges fees:

    1. social guild that had a good trader when I joined and moved to a better trader around the time the update that changes the biding system for kiosks work. We've been there ever since. Great people, very active, very kind and there is always some new guild activity we can do.
    2. housing guild that had a trader when I joined and moved to a better one a few weeks after the upgrade. Great people, very active, very kind and there is always some new guild activity we can do.
    3. social guild that had a trader when I joined, moved to a better one almost a year ago and has been there ever since. Great people, active, very kind and helpful.

Yes, I C&P the "great people..." part because, this is what makes it possible for those guilds to keep a trader week after week - a sense of community that makes it possible for us to come together and work towards the goal of keeping our traders.

I know that the favorite game some people in this forum play is "blame ZOS", but in this case the responsibility fall on the player. If you don't like the fee, don't join the guild.

I joined a Mournhold trading Guild for a week. Sold almost a million in high value items I had stashed for some time, then had to leave cause nothing else was selling anymore and i wasn't replenishing anything in demand. That's the problem with trade guilds not having casuals. We don't play to be real merchants and entrepreneurs. We come across valuables seldomly, join a Guild, sell it all at once, then we're left either paying the fees for no reason or leaving.

First off, being in 5 trading guilds is nuts. Secondly, top trading guilds have always had some kind of fee or minimum sales requirement(regardless of what server you are on). Keeping traders is an expensive venture, and thinking you don't have to put in the same effort as everyone else is exceptionally selfish.

This isn't a ZOS problem...this is a problem with people who think that the gold to maintain traders just falls from the sky.

This did not start with the multi-bid update. It has always been like this.

I was in a big trading guild for years. Then I saw lots of drama among the leadership. Lots of changes, increased dues, trader which had consistently been in Mournhold began moving around, and some weeks we didn't get a trader at all.

So I quit all guilds that require dues. These days I don't sell much, so I decon instead. Life is so much simpler.

Yet we have people coming here complaining that they're sitting on tens of millions with nothing to spend their gold on, because earning gold is too easy.
