I’m going to start by saying that say has absolutely become p2w.

Unless I’ve done my math wrong, here it is (without CP or buffs, default values only.

Current, 5 seconds:
3440+(3440x1.5)+(3440x1.5x1.5)+(3440x1.5x1.5x1.5)+(3440x1.5x1.5x1.5x1.5h)

=N/A

Now... The new “nerfed” Zaan, including new additional “nerfed” one second:

2010+(2010x2)+(2010x2x2)+(2010x2x2x2)+(2010x2x2x2x2)+(2010x2x2x2x2x2)

=N/A

This is a buff of almost 5x the current amount (Zaan already hits incredibly hard rn)... can you imagine the 25% increased damage ring and then minor berserk, major breach, off balance, shock status effect??? You would be between 300,000-400,000 damage in PvE, and 150,000-200,000 damage in PvP IN 6 SECONDS.

Is this balance? Please plug the math into google and verify or do it yourself if you don’t believe me (copy and paste).

If you had to stay in the beam for more than 3 seconds for any reason (such as lag and looking at zerglings running this), you would be toast. Plus this is super unhealthy for PvE too. IMO.

    And that's the type of mindset that prevents any balance. They dont need to take turns at being better, they should just be equal.

    This is what I saw on PTS day 1
    2000 / 4000 /6000 / 8000/ 10000 / 12000 dmg on the pts with zaan per tick idk what were you watching

    Have you actually gone on the pts and tested it? I did and reached the conclusion that your math must be wrong. Not the calculations mind you but zaan doesnt seem to calculate the way you think it does.

    Anyway here is a Combat log of a char without a weapon equipped and no cp spent, its not anywhere near 255k Damage.

    That's not how it works. Each second the multiplier increases by 1. So base damage x2, x3, x4, etc.

    It's ultimately not a nerf of you can stay close to the enemy for the full six seconds.

    They should already add a set that says smth like this:

    (2 items) Look funny at an enemy, dealing Obivion damage equal to 100% of their Max Health. This effect can occur once every 1 minute.

    Maybe do a comparison on live server and then pts and show both results with same gear class stats food etc.

    So he sees the actual difference.

    Zaan has always confused people by its damage. It doesn't double the total damage every second it simply doubles the base damage on the pts or as it is on live it adds 50% of the base damage.

    On live zaan is like this:
    3.5k - 5.25k -7k - 8.75k - 10.5k

    On pts itll be like:
    2k - 4k - 6k - 8k - 10k - 12k

    This is just a base estimate itll be more damage with all the modifiers and stuff.

    Old: 3400 x 10 = 34k over 5sec
    10=1+1,5+2+2,5+3

    New: 2000 x 21 = 42k over 6 sec
    21=1+2+3+4+5+6
    If you avoid last tick, it will deal 30k in 5sec

    Edit: It turnes out zaan tick when applied and when expires. So it is 1 more tick.

    Old: 46k
    New: 56k, 42k damage in 5sec if last tick is avoided.

    Huh... the weird thing is that these numbers match the calculations that I did for the set on live. Which may, of course, be wrong.

    I simply want a ZOS developer to explain precisely why the meta PvE damage sets keep getting buffs while seldom-used sets like Grundwulf and the support sets keep getting singled-out for random, drive-by nerfs.

    What exactly is the end-game here? Because all that they are achieving is cementing the current meta (especially for stamDPS) and somehow reducing the already limited number of options that end-game players have to use.

    Unless, of course, the end-game is: May Crown Store Preview, Zaan and Selene's Divines monster hats for 5k Crowns each?
