Eviscerate animation looks kinda lame

Hey Zenimax,

most of the new vampire animations are pretty good looking. However, that spammable (eviscerate) honestly looks pretty weak. It looks like that DK animation (searing strike) in terms of the arm lazily falling down, and then that red color that comes out is way too subtle.

Can you guys make it look a little cooler? I'd love to use a vampire spammable ability, but it would be awesome for it to look nicer :)

    Im holding most of my opinions on the vampire effects until we get closer to live, since as stated in the patch notes, the vampire stuff is still missing sounds and effects in places, which I did notice when playing through it myself

    Please no, big flashy animations hinder performance and are distracting in group settings. It is what is is...a bloody melee slash, that you'll be spamming on an enemy. Its the vampire equivalent to throwing a jab. A spammable should be visually simple compared to an ultimate or even a long dot, the visual effects convey the urgency and power of the skill. Ie swallow soul is a little red line. Elemental weapon a little golden line. The only visually significant spammable is cliff racer and thats only been to the detriment of the class because the slow animation holds it back. So... lets keep the bloody slash attack, a bloody slash.

    Exactly, it looks like a recolored burning embers, very hollow sounding and not satisfying at all as a spammable.

    If I‘ve got to spam that thing, it better delights me. No one was asking for flashy over the top stuff. Just something that doesnt reminds of a damp cloth falling down. But I‘ll wait, it seems to be unfinished atm.

    Come on my guy, did ZoS pay you to preach this "fancy skill animation disrupts game performance" mantra? That's a pretty lame excuse in the 2020 year of our lord.
    There's plenty of satisfying spammables in the game already - swallow soul, molten whip, jabs, dizzy swing, reverse slice, force pulse, surprise attack - they don't need to be flashy to feel good. This one feels like your hitting your enemy with bloodied towel. The sound effect is wet and soft - nothing eviscerateEY about it.

    Yeah...

    I know I am going to be using this alot and I sure am hoping it has a good sound and appearance to it.

    But! we all must remember...

    Couldn't agree more. Besides, if as a vampire you are going to be using it all the time make the character alternate hands while attacking. It doesn't look natural always clawing with the right hand.

    First of all give it a growl/roar sound to make it really feel like the Vampire is slashing them.

    Remove that damn hand visual, it looks stupid and it makes it look like your slapping them.

    big flashy animations? I'm talking about one that doesn't look lame and lazy. And that hindering performance line is a little pathetic. There are spammables in this game already that are cooler, and there are spammables in other MMO's that are cooler.

    i fell inlove with it immediately when i cast it, i love the way it looks and i pray it stays as is.

    To me, the animation "feels" bad rather than looks bad. Because there is no sound to accompany it, and the attack itself has no weight, the overall use of it feels very underwhelming. There's no impact, it feels like a swing and a miss.

    I'm not a big fan of the animation myself. Especially since I plan on using it on my magic characters and getting close to my enemies is not advisable.

    I wish one morph of it would be ranged and one melee. The melee (stamina version) would look more or less as it does now but with a bit more savagery to it. The ranged (magic version) would be a ranged black red-ish shadowy projectile the npc vampires have in Blackreach. So we'd get awesome looking spamables for melee and ranged. It's a win/win.
