Maintenance for the week of July 13:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – July 13

Hey ZOS, can you please create a change class system? That would be great.

Typically I wouldn't advocate this kind of thing, but I have used my character since BETA (6 years now) and all my achievements are on there/here/whatever. Seeing as you have gutted, reformed, mutilated, eviscerated, disfigured, etc, etc, etc nightblade into something no longer fun and barely recognizable... I'd like to be able to play something fun.

Typically, I am the kinda guy that is very much under the understanding of "this is what you signed up for, take your lumps" but nightblade, as it is now, is not what I signed up for. Its a shell of something fun...

So yeah, could I have a job change token some time? :)

Thanks :P

Discussed sooooo many times, official word on it is still "Nope, not intend to ever do that" with a garnishing "Its not technically feasible with our game system" which translates into "We think it would take more effort then we expect to make a profit from selling this..."

    So, there is that.

And unless/until they change their mind on this... all we will see is more "shortcuts" in the crown store to mirror progress from your main to any new alt. For a price.

I rather they don't because it gives them incentive to keep dramatically altering classes to push class change tokens

No game I've ever played has done this nor should they. Seriously, you can level a new toon to 50 in 10 days or less and your achievements will still hold on your original toon. Why do you need them on other ones? No one else is going to critique your lack of them. I don't get it, what am I missing?

I also have an unplayable stamblade with the vast majority of my achievements. I would like it changed into a more fun to play class. Or how bout at the very least, transfer achievements?

    I have several 50 characters :)

I have done all the story quest and access to every bit of everything, on my main. :)

Guess you missed the point :)

I must be doing something very wrong, because NB is my overall favorite class to play, and I'm not finding them unplayable in way, shape or form. Maybe that's the benefit of being "out of the loop" on FotM?

Yea, I used to reply just like you have here. Especially to the alliance change suggestions that Zos said just over a year ago they had no interest in offering it and told some people about the technical challenges due to how the game is designed. All that yet we have alliance change on the PTS and getting ready to release it next month.

So basically, it is feasible and Zos has shown willingness to change their minds easily.

    So there is that.

They've said the same about every other change we've had to date now. Honestly I wonder if they'll buckle on this eventually, what changes are there left otherwise?

I'm of a different mind. I just think ZoS lies and claims "We have no interest/not technically possible" as a soft no.

    Or the alliance change token.

Though my NBs both Stam and Mag have both been doing great in open world PvP.

Tbh it is skills not firing that are the worse.

Zos has demonstrated, in a very clear manner, that there is no such thing as a dead horse in these forums.

Zos said they have no interest in offering alliance change just last year and it is now slated to come to a crown store near you in this next update. Check out the PS notes.

    That is just one example.

No thanks. We'd just have a situation in which all the competitive players would run around with the FOTM class template and kick from their groups anyone who was different, all so that every update and incremental patch ZOS could tweak the classes so as to sell more class change tokens in the crown store. Besides, it's a MMORPG - create a character, choose a class and run with it, if you don't like it there's another 17 slots.

I’m running out of slots and AoS won’t sell me anymore.

What games have you been playing? Literally ALL OTHER mmos have a class change system. The two main ones though are WoW and FFXIV. Ffxiv lets you level all classes on 1 character and they are more like skill lines. WoW lets you change class with a purchasable token.

I recommend 2 accounts, each playing on 2 servers  ! That's apart from using the "delete" button.

Seriously tho', are you saying that all 18 slots are filled by characters of the same class?

I would LOVE to be able to level all class lines and swap class from time to time.

Classes are basically an artificial replayability mechanic anyway, I don't see why it matters whether it's one character or 15.

Yeah, well, they -did- say back in the day they are still thinking about alliance change but had no interest in ever doing class change...
...but it IS true they have changed their minds before, and might do so yet again at some point.

Still, the main question is would they at ZOS expect it to be worth the effort? And that is very dubious, especially now that they just started putting more "mirror stuff from your main" shortcuts into the crown store, after all, they would have to expect loosing on quite a bit on that if some people would not be tempted to make alts because they could class-change their main...

But hey, IF they ever go there... then that will be that as well.
I could see it happen someday... heck, if they ever release another class, I'd be there with all the people here crying for it, because at -some- point its just not bearable to play yet another alt through all the content just to experience a new class, and ESO is fast approaching this very point...
    Wheres the dead horse gif?
Last time I posted one, it got removed for "baiting". If that's the new forum policy, well... I tend to be more of the "lawful" kind, so there is that for me... ;)
    Noxavian wrote: »

    That is a lie.
I also played some, and none of them had it. Age of Conan didn't (unless they refitted one since I stopped playing), DCUO didn't (ditto). SW-TOR didn't even let people change their sub-class specialization back when I quit that one, and I really would have liked to redo my twi'lek gunslinger into a scoundrel... Star Trek Online doesn't let people change their profession either...
So, there you have it, more then enough MMORPGs don't have any class change option... and thus the "literally all" claim is blatantly false. :p;)

Should ESO have one? That's the matter of debate... and I still fail to see how it would improve the game, or the profits of the game-makers, so...

As recently as last year they said they had zero interest in offering alliance change. That pretty much sums things up as it was off the table. I do not know how far back you are going for them saying they were thinking about alliance change.

When did Zos say a necromancer class would be impossible? I have never heard such an absolute statement from Zos on the matter.

This does make much more sense. Save titles for characters that actually earn it but show achievements for the account. Pretty much everything else is tied to the account, not the character.

Just make a new character... it isn't even that difficult to level in this game.

I have a character of each class so If I need to I can just change them to whatever I desire.

don't see any problems with it. Most PvPers already have all classes, so they don't need that "flavor of the month" BS to jump from one meta class to another by using class change. It's mostly for PvErs who has money to spend it for whatever (class change token) reasons.

Personaly i wanted class change few years ago, but after ready some very smart (without emotions, without all that stupid "roll another character") posts i changed my mind.
