It's a straight up nerf, and it's now a shell of its former self.

Massive nerf. Nobody used the non-perfected staff before for good reason. Now its a difficult trial (for most) with no real reward.

Even people who have the perfected staff would be happy to make the non-perfected staff 2 casts to proc. When it was released it stood out as being a big gap between the two where none of the other non-perfected and perfected items had large differences. Even back then it seemed like the non-perfected was just too far behind to be useful.

I don’t see any reason to farm this even on vet let along HM for the perfected version.
Or even farm it at all, it’s just weak.

Snrk. I wonder what other result one hoped to get. That suddenly people who actually know something about the game will agree that perfected Asylum change is a buff? I didn't even vote, I'm just watching. :)

Bugifx to status effect proc and halved time frame between each cast to 5 seconds from 10 seconds is more than enough of a nerf. This should be kept.

But if we make it to proc on every third cast of Force Shock it will become an auto-deconstruct item. It should definitely proc on every other cast of Force Shock unless you want to make another arena weapon worth only Mastics.

    Its dead.
    Politeness is respecting others.
Courage is doing what is fair.
Modesty is speaking of oneself without vanity.
Self control is keeping calm even when anger rises.
Sincerity is expressing oneself without concealing ones thoughts.
    Honor is keeping ones word.

From a pvp perspective, it was always a bit shaky. While Elemental Weapons has true elemental procs (they apply to the target no matter what, even when they are Nord or Dunmer and are normally immune to burning and freeze) while the Asylum Staff is not a true proc. When the target has any source of fire, frost, shock resistence, it does not get the effect. Most people nowadays are Nord and many are Dunmer too. The Asylum Staff increases the proc chance per cast to 100%, which is still set to 0% by elemental resistence. Elemental weapons on the other hand does not increase any proc chance, but directly applies it, thus bypassing the resistence debuff.

So the perfected Asylum staff, against many players, still only has 2 procs every 2 casts. But you loose 2 weapon slots, which is either a monster set or a 5 piece set. You see, it is absolutely and utterly pointless to run one even now. Even if it was 3 effects every 2 casts, the loss of another set makes it less effective than elemental weapons.

When it only does this effect every third cast, it's absolutely out of the picture. You can hope that the base casts might produce an effect now and then to rival elemental weapons. Yet without Charged, it's inconsistent.

PvE was similar unless you are a Dragonknight. Now however? I vote for trash.

People did not discard imperfect AS stuff because it did not have a 1 piece bonus. ZoS deleted vAS staff and I think no one gonna use it ever again. They wont revert this change. Decon it.

Note: I dont have a vAS destro because I am not good enough to get one

There is a heavy opportunity cost to equipping a unique front bar weapon

You cant run 5/5 and a monster set.

I highly doubt their item power level equations considers this fact.

Please revert back to 2 casts as it is on live. The fix to burning procs and reduction to 5 seconds instead of 10 is enough to tone it down.

MagDKs were rare in PVE before this last patch. Lets keep them around.

It's straight-up baffling. Three hits in five seconds?! I can't think of many classes that have the luxury of being able to do that much in their rotations. And three hits... ugh.

They took away the one thing i liked and cared about the Asylum Perfected Weapons (mostly this weapon). The fact they actually improved the effect of the weapon (2 casts instead of 3) instead of just a boring stat increase. The term Perfected actually felt Perfected.
