Reeeel talk (VMA/DSA Drop system)

So players now have the option to go back into VMA for a greater reward, and what used to be will be available to newer players quicker <thus pushing them faster to endgame play, which is of course good>.

We will have to go back, and it seems that is that. There is 0 use whining about it at this point.

What should be on every discussion is VMA/DSA are now 4 1/2 - 5 year old content. There needs to be way to reduce the grind associated with farming the new perfected items.

Future Flawless clears granting a token to buy a specific perfected weapon of your choice? That gives an optional way for players to acquire quicker, and those that still need the title a new reward.
Token based reward. 10 runs <essentially lets say 1 hour per run - 10 hours - being roughly a week of VMA/DSA> - allows you to buy a perfected weapon of a specific trait. Tokens being account bound.

These should be specific for veteran clears only. NMA should be 100% random.
And should DSA have different token reward structure as its much longer and difficult <Group based vs solo>.

This is some easy simple solutions to basically fix the issues. Its old content. Yes, it needs to fit with their perfected standards, same with some older trials. Yes, ZoS should reduce grind associated to acquire them. Yes, players will be nodded to re-run the content.

Or, they could just completely forget about this madness - do the only reasonable thing: Say they've changed their minds after listening to the community, and decided that veteran arena weapons will remain veteran arena weapons. It's not a "2018 car you want to trade for a 2020's car", it's a well maintained Rolex from 1978, and nothing else.

Don't bargain with... Well yeah, you know how the saying goes...

Looks at post. Realizes that. Yup, ZoS knows more about the community than you do.

They are basically dumbing down the game. It’s great for newer players I guess. But wait until youve been around for a year or two, and there is no real incentive to do anything. I guess the business model is to attract new players, but not focused much on player retention.

    What does the even mean?

I agree though it feels your post is as out of touch with the community as ZOS decision.

Yeah, I really don’t understand why anyone would think that feeling entitled to a new car is at all an apt comparison. Perhaps I just missed the 2016-2019 Maelstrom models, though? I can’t seem to find them in my ESO Blue Book...

Moreover, anyone who bought their Maelstrom weapons obviously violated the TOS. These things aren’t bought — they’re earned, and they don’t depreciate like the latest car. I think it says a lot when even the devs see things exclusively in terms of commercial products and disregard players’ time and effort.

These discussions are obviously full of guys who never did VMA. :D

So. Excuse me if I got you all wrong, but what you are saying is basically that the better part of the ESO community likes this decision? To make our VMA weapons "new NMA" weapons? And that we will have to re-farm these again if you want (your) VMA ones (back)? Forum is full of people telling us how they were running this arena literally hundreds of times to get hold of their weapon(s); and you are telling me that a crushing majority of all these players are very eager and excited to do all that again - 5 years old content with mad RNG - or simply be fine with suddenly having a range of "well earned" NMA weapons? Even seen people say they know people who were so frustrated that they left the game altogether, because what they wanted simply didn't drop despite hundreds of runs?

Maybe I didn't know people playing this game well enough. But that's typically me I guess. Or, I'm playing with another type of players. Who knows.

I'm not a big fan of token systems to be honest. I don't even know if it's technically possible to trigger certain drops via an achievement (i.e. flawless run). Let's assume it is.... now imagine the whining and raging here on the forum when people are dying because if lag/desync during the last round.
The only sensible solution in my books is to auto-upgrade existing vMA weapons. It's not just about the time that those people have actually spent farming the weapons, but also the time it took them to upgrade and transmute them. Taking away something from a player is not a good idea to begin with. Expecting him to re-do the content is just plain silly and bad, lazy game design.

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
