Just curious about how many people in fact play mainly PvP vs PvE (or both).
I realize that the forums visitors may not be fully representative - but it's nice to have an indication.
Mostly a PvP player, but I go PvE for skins or personalities usually as a tank or healer. Recently more and more because prime time pvp is unplayable...
I only play PvE and primarily as a solo player. I do not enjoy PvP in any game these days and prefer playing my own way rather than min/max builds or specific expectations from group content.
Love my pvp but also like to chill sometimes and do quests bit of a role player my main nb a Breton vampire and I favour Breton race and I like to play both specs of nb on him even though I have 3 other stamblades 🙂
On PC-EU I used to mostly PvP, only occasionally running some PvE content for gear drops.
But since I moved to PC-NA 3 weeks ago, I again start out with nothing - and need to do a bunch of PvE first to assemble my armory.
As well as a lot of overland content (skyshards, lorebooks, zone questlines, Psijic Order) for the skillpoints and skill lines.
I have nights where it's with one of my PvP guilds and other nights for PvE trials, etc. I enjoy both near equally tbh. It's almost like having two games in one.
Now, ofc, Cyrodiil can be a mess a lot of the time but I try to push past it as much as I can. I do get pissed off like most of us when my skills don't register, loading screens galore, or one of my favorites...falling into a blue-sky abyss followed by a blue screen. Although, taking keeps and defending (my favorite) still has a great sense achievement after all these years for me.
When it comes to trials I always have a blast. They are filled with laughs and the super seriousness during battles. The teamwork involved really gives you a good feeling when you usurp a leaderboard score or for some new members when they earn their first clear. These are some of the reasons why I love this game so much.

This also applies to me. I do play cooperatively at dolmens, delves, dragons and world bosses but I've no interest in formal group content (or PvP). Given a sensible range of options I would have voted "Solely PvE" but voted for the nearest option to that.
When a new chapter or dlc drops, I do more PvE. While I'm waiting for a new chapter (like now), I do more PvP. So it kind of balances out over the course of a year.

I’m not against group content... but it has to be the right group with the right impetus. Just after launch, I was in a social guild based around purely magicka characters. We played mage explorers of ruins and dungeons. It was pretty much the best time I’ve had in this game. Sadly the guild turned into a ghost-town after our GM abandoned us. Twice.
I’d love to find a group like that again. In any other circumstances then group PvE can go hang with all of PvP.
When the PvP in this game is the worst PvP experience I've ever had in any game, I'm dumbfounded as to how anyone has the capacity to bother with it at all. The idea of castle sieging is fantastic, granted, and if it actually worked well it'd be pretty darned awesome. I'm still waiting for the developers to completely destroy the current PvP model of this game and replace it with something that uses that basic idea and makes it good... because I'll play it. It'll probably be some other developer that makes that game. And I'll go play that instead.
I used to do mostly PVP with some PVE.
Though I completed lot of the PVE achievements too, it's just when I got bored I returned to do mainly PVE.
Now I'm fully PVE because of the performance issues.
The performance issues affect PVE too, but to a much lesser extent.
I don't speak of trials(in which the performance is awful), I speak of veteran dungeons, questing, overland, housing etc.
Main character: PC EU main: Universe - AD magicka Sorcerer, Former Emperor, Grand Overlord, The Merciless, Trial Bosses Solo Champion

I got calltrops on my main, all the skyshards, delves and quests. That's where my interest in PvP ended. I did actually enjoy it more than I thought but the loading times going from keep to keep sucked the fun out of it back then. From what I read on the forums it's a lot worse these days so I see no reason to try it again.
I prefer pvp, but A) it's sometimes too buggy (and bugs in pvp get frustrating much faster than in pve) and B ) you have to have strong pve skills to grind most gear anyway. So actually I end up forced to play mostly pve.
I play what (how) I want. Some days (weeks or even months) I will do only PVP. Other times I will just fish for days on end. Sometimes I like to level alts. I can spend days crafting furniture and decorating one of my many homes. A couple of years ago I decided I needed to make gold and spent about six months trying to keep 120 trader spots full. I'm down to 30 right now. I have also been known to grab a weapon that needs maxing out and run Dolmens until my eyes bleed. I never know what I'm going to get hooked on or how long I will be addicted to it. I just do whatever feels fun to me.
Used to be PVP, only PVE to get occasional gear for PVP - helped some guild people out getting them gear, but like 90% PVP at least.
But now, as the performance is completely abysmal, and as the remaining players nearly all run in ballgroups (and I don't!), I have left Cyrodiil for now. Now, I'm trying to do vet/hm DLC dungeons, and trying to decide if I'm even staying in the game or not. Patch notes that concerns PVP looks hilarious, and I don't even think ZOS understand what they will mean - but it will be a blast for sure, if only the performance would be nearly OK.
The news about Maelstrom weapons etc. have really ****** me off quite a bit, so we'll see. I do love the world of this game, the lore and everything. But it's like they are killing their own game, and have no respect whatsoever for us old players. Eventually back to PVP, if it's ever gonna be playable again...
