DualShock 4 / PC users - two questions

Hey all,

2 questions:

1. I saw there’s great steam support for the DS4 but my ESO was bought through ESO directly. must I buy base game and connect my steam user in order to get the DS4 support benefits? Or can I use them regardless somehow?

2. What’s the name of the add-on that makes the controller icons fit the PS4 buttons? Couldn’t find it.

I do not own a Dualshock 4 controller, and currently use the standalone launcher for my game. I have however played using an Xbox One controller using the native Gamepad Mode. After doing a quick Google search, it seems that this addon is what people use to force the PS4 buttons to appear on the screen: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1228-PlaystationInterface.html

You do not need to own the Steam version of the game to get the controller benefits. On steam, you can add a 3rd party game to your library list by selecting the 'Games' dropdown on the file menu, and clicking 'Add a Non-Steam Game to my Library...'


From there, you should be able to add ESO either by the menu provided, or by browsing manually to the ESO64.exe file within the game's directory. If you launch ESO from Steam using Big Picture Mode, you should always have access to custom steam controls. Note however, that it might take a lot of time and experimentation to get everything to work as you need it. There are many resources on YouTube that explain how to map keybindings to controllers using Steam's interface.
