Upcoming changes to vMA/vDSA weapons- time for a token system?

Many veteran players are upset that their current vMA/vDSA weapons won't convert over to "Perfected" versions. Maybe it's because of coding or maybe it's to pull people back into old arenas. If ZOS is unwilling to convert the weapons- I suggest having a token system to make farming them less painful. @ZOS_BrianWheeler

Even if the "token" is similar to how the Undaunted treasure chest keys go.

Perhaps there could be chests at the end and they would be separated by DW, 2H, SnB, Bows, and Staves. (Or perhaps just a "stamina" chest and a "magicka" chest). The trait, of course, would be random- but this would exponentially decrease the grind of the arenas.

What are your thoughts?

    Yeah. I agree and I think they started to take it in the right direction with the Undaunted Pledge Chests. It still adds an aspect of RNG while lessening the grind. I understand the need of not giving players exactly what they want right off the bat- so a bit of RNG is necessary.

    I personally don't feel that gear needs to be exclusive to certain content. My system of choice would be based on crafted gear, freely purchased by whoever wants to pay for it. Naturally, better gear would require rarer components and be more expensive.

    That said, it's ESO we're talking about. vMA weapons have been best in slot what, four years now? Players who first farmed it needed to get the right piece AND the right trait. Making traits transmutable was already a slap in the face of players who needed to do hundreds of runs for the perfect piece. Nerfing weapons obtained in vet runs and making them equal to the ones that will be obtained through normal runs seems downright insulting.

    I don't know if a token system is the way to go, as it still requires that you farm tokens. I think current vMA weapons should be converted to perfected versions, and only the ones that drop in normal runs in the future should be non-perfected.

    [Edit] This doesn't mean I'm happy that any given piece of equipment can stay BiS for years. But the typical way to deal with this is to introduce better gear, not take yours away and make you farm the same gear again.

    Yes. For absolutely all dungeons. Trying to farm a specific weapon type from any dungeon set is hell in this game. If you're looking for a specific trait too it's roughly a 2% drop chance. Hell have mercy on your soul if you want two weapons for dual wielding or a shield...

    Token system won't make up for the changes they are suggesting.

    The existing vMA weapons should be equal to what you get for doing vMA after Greymoor.

    nMA weapons should just be added in.

    Tokens should have been added long ago as others have said and that would get me do actually run the content once in a while still. I have no interest in re-farming the same drops b/c they nerfed what I have. But it would be helpful inventory wise to just decon weapons that aren't useful and earn tokens and save them for if some change made a weapon useful in the future.
