ZOS icon next to a thread, it’s always to tell people to be civil.

I uderstand and that it is part of their job role to control and maintain decent conduct in the forums, but it’s frustrating when you click to hopefully see an explanation and it’s just Gina or someone else saying please be nice to each other. Say what you want about Blizzard and WoW but when we you saw a blizz post you got excited because they were about to give us some insight into the game and tell us why they chose the decision they did, or at least to let us know they were investigating it. There are even sites dedicated to blue posts.

The ZOS thread icons on these forums are completely irrelevant because they offer no constructive use except to maintain order. If that’s all it is used for then shouldn’t they just remove the icons, and only have them for when something constructive is posted? Which is never by the way.

It’s just my opinion of course but I think the community members for eso and on these forums don’t do anything to interact with the community, to help manage concerns or to give insight, instead just they just tell you to behave. This causes nothing but further frustration and that is one of the reasons why people tend to get angry in threads. Maybe it’s because Gina and the other community members don’t know anything about the inner workings? If that’s the case then fair enough, but please in that event hire an additional community member who does know how the game works and clan help manage the flood of complaints. Whilst the rest can do what they do best and tell people to behave.

Please ZOS, interact with your community. you’re not above us, you are suppose to help encourage us to stay and instead you cause us to complain about yourselves. Amazing game, terrible customer service outside of the game.

Stop living only in General Forums maybe, you know, where the community can become rabid at the slightest thing, no matter the game, majority of all General Discussion forums will always need more moderation versus motivation, some just know how to use a thesaurus to skip past getting closed quicker.

Areas like, Community Creations the mods there are interactive and comment often on posters works, no matter the various ranges of skill levels, it is a nice slice compared to here.

Yeah, they need to get rid of the Zenimax icon next to threads that do not have a response from a developer or design team member. Moderators don't need that, and it's almost misleading, like there's been some official ruling to the OP.

The icons should have different colours. Forum staff should have a green icon, an actual Zenimax employee should have a red icon.

People are pissed off by the current game state.

People are paying money for a product that doesn't work, everyone will lose temper when he'd feel scammed or exploited by paying his hard work money to a game that doesn't work or a company that could care less about fixing the game, except by spreading promises over 5 years in different colors, shapes and occasions.

You don't except people to be "civil" when they literally lose money. Anger is a feeling just like hapiness or satisfaction if you do not know

Expecting people to "calm down" or whatever emotions hindering on an unfunctional game is unjustified behavior by anyone, the world has changed, nobody cares about sugarcoated words when they lose money.. Even sugar itself is cancerous, just like the current game state.

True, but I think the problem is as follows;

They post on things that aren't that important to the game and then only comment on important things when its to tell people to be civil or to close a thread. That sends a horrible message.

An even worse message being sent is when developers tend to only post on the forums when its concerning the crown store.

The only other time i've seen anyone actually post anything on a thread from ZoS is when there is a huge server wide issue and the devs require some sort of input because their own metrics aren't providing the data they normally would use to fix the issue.

All and all it sends the completely wrong message to the community along the lines of "we dont care until it affects our pocket or our game is breaking and we have no other choice". Which should make people angry all considering. Especially those of us who have been with the game since beta.

The latest PTS "Trial" is a start. Its good way to try and engage with the community more but it needs to be on a much more nuanced level as well, naturally devs cant always post on the forums because well they need to actually do their jobs too but there is also a thing that many development teams are doing which is basically not bothering to come on the forums out of fear. Forum boards tend to be places of discontent and anger and thus developers end up being too anxious about saying the wrong thing and THEN there is the PR department which often will forbid a development team from even talking in the first place.

I guess the general point is, people need to calm down and others need to grow some spines and actually communicate, its a two way street.

I mean, it was a good start, but tbh I was terrified for weeks, weeks of no update on the direction of the changes until they finally gave an answer that it won't be this patch. And that didn't even tell us their full thoughts on it. I mean, after the first 3 days all that was needed to said was said already, but we didn't get an update on the direction they are thinking about currently. So after the first 3 days it was just a repetition of the same community posts, nothing new, and excluding some few "we read it" there was no one to convey something like "we see the problem with this specific aspect, how about this solution".

Their changes, that were supposed to "higher the floor and lower the ceiling", would end up in stam bash weaving meta (higher's ceiling) and tanks+ heals straggling for resources (lowering floor) and needing to weave a lot to keep them up (higher's ceiling).

I can keep going on more reasons why suggestions were bad, so we can see how obviously, the "we know best" is obviously inaccurate as heck.

Even the worst ideas can be laid out in a manner that sounds logical, rational and reasonable. The player base should be acknowledged on their ideas, but rarely should our ideas be acted upon alone. All ideas we come up with, no matter how good/bad they are need to be broken down and built up multiple times.
No one idea can fix anything, and we need to get over that concept, and not be offended when ideas are meet with criticism and scrutiny. It is does not matter how much we like our ideas, be it due to having a keen understanding or not - it is still a rough draft and to make ideas work, we need to accept the criticism and scrutiny of others to make the draft eventually evolve into the final form as a community.

To find that common central ground to benefit all players, not just a select few - ranging from performance issues to class/skill balance has to have a delicate dance and be really voided of any bias. Which we as a community can barely do on a daily basis. Once the community can act as a whole, each one of us able to address and explain issues they see, suffer from with tact and logic, we can eventually move forward.

There are quite a few people here acting like petulant children, who give the forum a bad reputation to new users here.

Zos really needs to start banning people from the forum and game. At weekends is it ridiculous.

The mods here have no control of the running of the game. I do feel sorry for them, having to put up with some of the disgraceful stuff posted here.
