Question to the pro Magcro players

Hi there,

I am currently working on improving my magcro DPS. My best parse so far is 61k DPS on the Iron Atronach dummy. Usually I end up between 54 and 58k DPS.

By adding bash on a few skills, I was able to increase my LA from 0.4 per sec, to 0.6 per sec. There are still some things that are not clear to me:

Do I need to animation cancel every skill with a bash? Or only some skills? If so, which one? I do not think I can keep up with stamina to bash after every skill. How many CP points do I have to add to the bash cost reduction?

I did find a static rotation on youtube, and I will try to write down the things I do - please correct me if I do something wrong.

LA- BB - WS (weapon swap) - LA - Blockade - Bash - LA - Boneyard - WS

LA - BB - WS - LA - Trap - Bash - LA - Mage - WS

LA - BB - LA - Degeneration - Bash - LA - Skull - WS

LA - BB + Syphon - Bash - LA - Skull - LA - Skull - WS

Rinse and repeat. I will replace one skull with ultimate when ready (and WS since it is on the backbar).

Static rotations are kind of wonky on Magcro, because of the delays on Bastbones, but okay for dummy parses. You should still start out with precasting mage into trap though. You don't need to bashweave anything for your rotation or LA weaving to work, it's just a small DPS increase on top. if you can do it. But I honestly wouldn't bother for learning. With 0.4 LA/s you are clearly doing something wrong with your weaving to begin with and that you see an increase with bashing is probably down to simply delaying your rotation. Apart from that you should make sure that you don't recast siphon right after mage or before boneyard, but always have a Blastbones in between, so you don't use the wrong corpse.

Thanks for your answer. For me the bash is more for animation cancelling skills, then for DPS. I get about 1 k DPS from the bash attacks.

How can I improve on light attack weaving? I almost immediatly press skill after light attack, should i wait a little longer? Or could there be another reason my LA's do not register?

The delay between the LA and the skill after shouldn't matter for the LA to register. You can press the skill while the light attack hasn't even started and it still goes off as long as you don't actually register the skill input before the LA input. However you need a very small delay between the LA attack and the skill before and by that also between two skills for the LA to go off. So what you want to do is basically LA - Skill - Delay - LA - Skill, of course you want to keep that delay as short as possible, just so that you can register the LA, since it otherwise would lose you DPS. But I think just for learning to get your LAs out you can start a bit slower and then tighten down the delay once you have consistent weaving.

Thank you very very much. I indeed was doing LA - skill - LA - skill all the time. Seems I got it wrong. Gonna practice some more and let you know the results.

They're a difficult class to play. Skills feel clunky and sometimes just outright don't work properly if at all. Blast bones is a lot better this patch but graveyard doesn't seem to fire sometimes and it's still a matter of wriggling the cursor and spamming siphon to proc it in a real trial. If not for the colossus I don't think anyone would play this class as a dps spec.
