yes, but there is not even a common way to handle good friday as a holiday or not. In some countries even Easter tuesday is a holiday, some have just good friday and saturday as holidays - it differs quite a lot all over the world.

If you were talking about Easter Sunday, I'd be right there with you. But Easter Monday isn't nearly as important, in my understanding, nor is it a holiday in that many countries. And I'm from a nominally Catholic country.

easter monday is a public holiday in pretty much all of europe, including australia, new zealand, partially canada...thats nearly 3 times the population in the US...

Its not the first time this happens, and won't be the last time. And if it helps with the performance, let them have those four hours maintenance. Go for a walk if you are allowed, search some easter eggs with the kids, take a bubble bath, a nap, cook something nice, wash the dishes... keep calm and carry on. ;)

Tuesday is the last day (or less than half of a day) of the event.

Well, you can't argue by numbers in this way - 3/4 of the world's population is not even christian and doesn't care at all. in the end ZOS is a US company and they stick to US laws and that's it.

the "is a US company" is such a stupid argument

thats like saying McDonalds Australia should have opening hours according to the US timezones becaues its a US company

It's been on mondays for as long as I can remember, and I've played since beta - unless it was an emergency. Guess they at the start checked out when LEAST people were on, and went for that.

I wouldn't appreciate it being moved to random days at this point. I've finally learned to come to expect it on Mondays :D

They're being consistent, and by it being at the same time every time, people know to expect it, and plan around it.

Go do the dishes and take a nap...or two :D

Well, if the preparing of those meals also happened in the US, your argument may be valid. But since Australia prepares the meals themselves (at least I hope so), whereas they don't do their own server maintenance...

Last official information said the European server is in Europe. So the technicians will work on a holiday. Which isn't exactly viewed as necessary in the EU.

As it is a patch maintenance it will be done remotely - most likely no one has to work on it in europe to get it done.

And that could be a valid reason why PC-EU fails so many times spectacularly, without someone to control the patching process.

Oh my, are you guys so addicted to ESO that you can'T do something else meanwhile?- it is just a couple of hours, go clean up your apartment or house, mow the lawn or whatever else is there to do. you have a serious problem if you are that addicted.

thats also such a stupid argument ...yeah people want to play when they have a long weekend off and nothing to do - you can use that argument FOR ANYTHING

oh people complaining about the performance in Cyrodiil? "h my, are you guys so addicted to ESO that you can'T do something else meanwhile?- it is just a couple of hours, go clean up your apartment or house, mow the lawn or whatever else is there to do. you have a serious problem if you are that addicted"

useless comment just for the sake of trolling

tuesday morning is the last day of the anniversary event. running maintenance on tuesday means most people miss out on the last day of boxes and tickets since event ends at 10 am.

This is the obvious reason right? If they made it Tuesday, how many people would have this complaint... I guess there's just no pleasing everyone.
