You kinda have to use some "space-inflating" tricks to prevent your players from noticing that chapter zones every year are getting progressively smaller. Impassable mountains is one of those. Inconvenient wayshrines is another.

Have some caring. Some people are afraid of the wildlife. You never know when a marauding band of evil skeevers might waylay you. Safer to use wayshrine.

Exploration is fine but when you want to farm dragons, nobody's going to run around for minutes to reach each dragon and go back to the shrine. This is why Northern Elsweyr failed while Southern succeded.

Sounds like a dragon hunters nightmare to me! I was having some frustration with it myself then I started watching where the more experienced players took some shortcuts and drastically reduced the running time from dragon to dragon. Once you see the short cuts for the first time you’ll wonder how you never saw them before.

Also if you have any skills slotted that give expedition you can use those and sprint while the buff is active. I can outrun people on horses using bird of prey on my warden.

When there's high enough numbers of people farming said Dragons, as I had found out myself, you can just park your character at one of the Dragon's spawn areas and wait for the respawn. Sure you miss out on two other Dragon fights, but at least you're not rushing around the map constantly and the respawn rate gets fairly quick, unless ZOS nerfed it.

You may be right about this, but who cares lol. This is a pretty minor gripe considering the problems this game has.

Game performance is probably the most important gripe for me, and also stuff that breaks immersion in solo PVE.

I do mine often after the daily reset. It’s a smaller group at that hour, this is how I learned the routes to go between. The hardest part sometimes is coordinating where to start because you’ll have 4-5 people at each dragon waiting for numbers. Then finally one group says F it and starts hitting one and the other groups show up 2 minutes later 😆
