No they are not doing nearly enough.
They should put their effort into game performance, rather than nerfing/changing everything left, right and center.

Raids are nearly unplayable since Harrowstorm because of the "performance fixes" in the first place. So far the attempts of fixing the completely self created and unnecessary mess have made it even worse. I really can't give them any praise even if they are now communicating a bit more and hopefully actually fixing it, because the problem should not have been created in the first place.

Off cycle PTS testing is certainly a step in the right direction, but it does not at all address the core issues of ESOs update system. It is still the same often quoted "sledgehammer" approach. Communication is still non existent. The developer comments are mostly vague and meaningless. There are no proper explanations why and with that I mean hard facts, statistics, math and not some digression into their personal ethics and believes. And no actual discourse at all, no answers to player suggestions or questions what so ever. Don't even get me started on class reps, they are nothing but a meat shield to fend off community interaction at this point.

I voted other - for now.

I can't say whether I'm satisfied or not because as of yet, they haven't adequately addressed the elephant in the room, which is the games degrading performance issues. Lag, FPS drop, and other game performance issues in both PVE and PVP are my #1 issue, and while they seem to be working to try to address this issue, it is clear that this is still a work in progress and thus, you can't really judge them re: the direction of the game in that regard until you see that they have success.

I will say that performance issues seemed less severe, but then the Jester and Jubilee events occurred, and combined with additional server load from free-to-play ESO week, the performance issues have made much of the content in the game unplayable during peak hours.

I accept that the game and combat will change/evolve so the other proposed changes and whether they go through or not are less of a big deal. I'll adapt to whatever changes they make. But you can't really adapt to degrading performance unless you step away from the game, which I'm definitely not ready to do.

Game overall needs to be balanced for solo players, many of content in game like imperial city dlc is very challenging if not impossible for some solo players, solo players who are not part of the “elites” within eso that comes from the skill gap, should not be barred from experiencing the story and content of some zones/quests that are locked behind extreme difficulty.

IC npc's had a nerf a long time back and are incredibly easy to kill. I disagree that all content should be solo-able it just means that there isn't something there for everyone all of the time. All of the overland and main quest has been reduced to such an extent that people on the other end of the scale have lost interest.

I haven't played any of the DLC content because it is too easy and therefore dull for me. (apart from Psijic for the skill line).

So me and people like me are missing out on a lot of content. And I am not a top level PVE player and don't get far in vet trials unless I am carried but even these have gotten easier.

Using words like "elites" actually sounds conspicuously like....well elitism in my book.

My main point is that a big chunk of content should suit everyone and that there should be some easy and difficult content for those at either end of the scale outside of instances.

There really is a point in MMOs when you just have to team up with someone even if it is just for 5 mins.

Game performance is worse than ever, there is still massive delays and desync issues, class identity is still absolutely awful, constant nerfs patch by patch, more focus on crown store than gameplay fixes by developers, failure to fix bugs that have been in the game for ages, obvious lack of direction when it comes to balancing, copying abilities from certain classes and giving them out to every other class because they don’t seem to have ideas of their own, cast time ULTs, honestly this list could probably go on a lot further but let’s just leave it here for now...

Most changes I dont like. I probably should have voted no but the off cycle pts changes are one of the best things they could have done. Slow incremental changes is what they should have always been doing, with off cycle pts testing. Instead the norm is drastic, fast, unexpected changes, and blanket nerfs.

But nearly everything else I'm not that happy with. Communication is dog *** and after all their promises, year after year after year, it never improves. WW's hit like trucks and its ridiculous, although im not sure if that was a previous change or a change this update. And the performance changes have made things worse and I havent seen anyone say too much about it.

Imo zos usually does more harm than good with most changes. Especially now, but around one tamriel was when things got questionable and now its only been down hill. Brainless sets like zaan and earthgore are so sad to see in a competitive game. I think if zenimax put in the necessary work they could have all these cool sets, classes, and abilities, while still having a balanced game. And their combat changes are so damn unnecessary. Instead of the god awful block changes they should have been focusing on performance more. Now performance is worse and those changes made combat slower and more clunky, which is fantastic for small scale pvpers.

But I would love to see where they have big changes for performance, if someone could link it.

generally yes...the issue i see is that like many groups, zos seems to be more and more listening to the loud and vocal minority complaining all the time instead of the 80% silent majority.... i am not sure this is a good thing

imo the whole weaing light attacking and the combat in general is just a mess that might be interesting for a small minority of veteran players that have gone through all the changes and iterations and are looking at things from an incremental-change perspective but is very un-intuitive for the majority of players...

ALL of combat is unintuitive to new and inexperienced players due to a general lack of tutorials.

When a player gets serious about combat, he turns to the internet looking for insight and builds. With very few exceptions the results are...lackluster.

Vet guilds and vet players, (that vocal minority) have helped inexperienced players way more in reducing the skill gap between the experienced and the inexperienced than simply “changing” combat ever could.

Yes, there’s a steep learning curve; but, in the end one still has to LEARN...something.

No they are not doing nearly enough.
I'm not happy with what they've been accomplishing.

I do not know all the challenges they face, but it often seems like they are adding to their trouble with tinkering more than they should.

For example, while they are rolling out these several patches of performance improvements, they also seem to be adding to the problem with new bugs by changing things like block. Maybe it was a big performance help to change it, I don't know; but it doesn't seem like it was. The performance of the game actually got worse since they've started these.

And for all those saying the teams that work on one part of the game don't do the work to the performance. I find it hard to believe that they don't use the same tech guys. Sure, art, writing, reg staff, etc. don't work on the performance, but I'd bet the same guys that are trained to input all the coding for temporary PTS patches and the like are the same guys that know how to do the other work with coding for performance.

I will say, I liked the idea of a PTS that was actually a test. BUT, it started off so flawed with the math that it was never a real test and was just a waste of time. If the numbers actually made sense, we could have actually learned something from it instead of everyone that knows the game just having to prove what was already obvious from looking at the numbers. I'd also be weary of completely reworking core parts of the game years into it's release AND in the middle of a bunch of performance patches.

I'm also concerned about the game getting too dumbed down. They've nerfed DLC dungeons over and over again, and just looking at their idea with the LA/HA changes concerns me. I've already watched PvP turn into a mindless playstyle, and most of PvE is already, now it looks like they are coming for the harder content as well. I'm glad they aren't going forward with the changes as they were, but the idea wasn't completely bad. I just wish I trusted them more (not that it matters, I'm not in charge of anything).

Then there is the concern of power creep. Which I think is unavoidable to a degree otherwise players feel stalled out. BUT when you add a set that gives everyone a major buff and frees up 8 DPS to run different gear b/c they no longer have to give themselves that buff - that's additional power creep that wasn't needed. Just putting that buff on the set for the caster would have been enough to have a new nice set to acquire.

No not happy in the least bit, I actually have no clue what direction they are trying to take this game because it seems to me like they are intentionally trying to destroy their game. It's the only thing I can come up with as to why they would make such a beautiful gaming experience just to RIP the guts out of it with some of the most braindead adjustments that break the game. I have stopped playing end game after this ps4 patch nothing fires, I cant bar swap stam regen bugged so bad I have 0 stam regen in Cyrodil, dots killing u before u even know they have been applied, its nearly impossible to play even the simplest dungeon. It's sad that what was such an amazing game has been reduced to a product they should be ashamed of. Its bad

I'm happy to be happy with something ZOS is doing for once. It feels like quite a while since I was lol. That having been said, I really really would love for them to calm their anxious busy selves and simply stop doing "new" things to combat ect. Adding new stories, DLC, items, even crown store items? sure all that is great and fresh. But that is it. Until performance can be reasonably improved, I'd much rather no new skill, combat, or other changes. As I posted elsewhere; when I'm having to literally sit completely still for one full second in order for a potion to activate in a battle, when i'm having to click my execute 3 to 4 to even 5 times (all the while its stopping my animation halfway through) in order for it to finally fire, when i'm having to run and hide behind a rock for my ward to activate because running seems to cause it to not respond when i hit the button multiple times, then I don't care what new shiny changes they add if it means dead on the ground every time.

ZOS could learn a lot from the company Zoom. Zoom, the video conferencing company, saw a massive uptick in usage (~300%) recently and that uptick revealed some flaws in their software.

Their CEO immediately made a public announcement: They are ceasing ALL new feature development and focusing 100% of their efforts on fixing flaws, bugs, and security issues in their product.

On the other hand, we have ZOS. They are also seeing a huge uptick in usage. However, the game is in possibly the worst state it's been in in years. There are massive bugs (new and old) and massive performance issues. Their last attempt at improving performance was a failure and a complete embarrassment.

And their response is to release shiny new content while "looking into some things that may improve performance."

    Disappointing.

One of my guilds says the same thing in guild chat. Constantly.

It's trade guild and their daily gameplay consists of:
    - Decorate their house
    - Changing outfits
    - Displaying non-combat pets
    - Running a random normal dungeon
    - Running a delve sometimes.
    - Farming raw mats
    - Selling on the guild trader

They can't understand the complaints because they don't run a single bit of content where the glaring flaws of ESO are apparent. They play house and play dressup and run the easiest overland content available. A delay in firing a skill doesn't matter when you're standing in Rimmen playing with your cat pet.

I understand ZOS are trying to make the game better but in the last few years the game's performance & combat balance only got worse, even more so in the last year(not to mention there are multiple bugs).
There is a long way to go until major aspects of the game will improve, if at all.

ZOS can and should do a lot more to fix the game...
The question is if they are committed enough to the cause.
It is not too late, a major improvement can go a long way for both the studio and the player base.

The prioritization of tasks needs to change... better overall performance & combat balance should be #1 priority.
Best of luck! ZOS, you will need it :)

I'm a bit meh on the game play aspects. Whatever, do what you want. But the game itself just doesn't seem to do or even try new things. Its just a recycle of what we've had. Example, the new harrowstorms are meant to be like dark anchors. I'm way past bored of dark anchors (don't even do them any more). I thought the dragon fights were good additions. Like a world boss but absolutely have to have a large number of people. So those were interesting for a time but there was something about them that got old pretty fast. I got my thirty completed achievement and left them behind.

Each new chapter just feels like the same game with a new coat of paint. I'd like to see something that is completely new to this game. I don't care where you steal it from but something beyond doing the exact same thing we've been doing with new scenery. The scenery is nice and the major reason for me to purchase them. Not for the questing that feels exactly the like the first quest I ever did. I hope the story is exceptional.

I'm not sure exactly what I'd like to see (since I really do want surprises but good ones). So I try not to be too critical or that my money is wasted. Maybe story decisions that really have an impact of how the world changes for me but that's so difficult in a mmorpg. So not exactly sure what I'd like but I know currently my excitement for the game has long ago left. Its just oh that's interesting/nice and move on without it barely registering.

To be fair the other game I play, WoW, has the same issues but they do have those times where its really interesting and fun. But they also have those times where its hated and makes people want to burn down the company. But I have more wow experiences in WoW that I hope for each expansions while I'm still waiting for ESO to do its first. Or second because I think the Molog Bal questline was super fun.

Extreme potential is what comes to mind when I think of eso. Their direction with the game works so well it brings in more players each year, but this is at a loss since it hinders performance and ZOS refuses to prioritize that.
