ZOS is messing with core gameplay mechanics to “help reduce server load”. However, just as with their animation overhaul years ago which made all animations choppy, whenever this team touches something it comes out feeling worse.
There’s a few things at play:
• Blocking was changed recently and is now significantly less reactive. They reworked it aka made it clunky too. Furthermore, some skills can no longer be block cancelled while others still can - it’s random. No one likes it because it feels slow and clunky.
• Game performance is far worse. Also desyncs are far worse - an npc or player on your screen is actually somewhere else on the server, so you need to be directly on someone to land a hit sometimes. There’s a hilarious video around here of a dude spamming Shield Charge for over 30 seconds, closing the gap tons of times, but not actually hitting the target even once.
ESO has become awful PvP-wise and I highly recommend playing a different game for that type of content. Devs in other games actually support their PvP. Even PvE is experiencing all sorts of issues too. As a console player I had never had any performance issue in dungeons before prior to Summerset and trials only suffered from fps drops. Now I can run Sunspire on Vet HM and after coming back from portals on last boss, take 30sec+ to see adds spawning in (usually only a generous 10sec+).

Yeah I've been playing other games. I just decided to kill a few adds since I was logging in anyways and yeah I think I'm going to continue playing other games for a while more. I hope they revert whatever they did that messed it up.
My theory, albeit paradox, is that ZoS wants to destroy ESO for some reason. Everything they do, both regarding combat balance and performance is aimed at annoying and discouraging their players and taking fun out of the game.
I have no clue why they do it. I guess it is the vengeful spirit of Wrobel haunting the studio.
No they don’t want to destroy their game. Passion and money (mainly money) are the two primary incentives for making a game. If we take a look at what’s happened the past 3 years:
• All skills became homogenized. The least fun method of balancing, but also the easiest method to maintain. This is what the game has transitioned to the past year especially.
• Game performance is at an all-time low
• PvP is utterly awful and barely has players
• There is very little communication from the Devs. It’s at the point where they have a really bad reputation amongst their playerbase
• The Crown Store is being updated more consistently than ever and is very well maintained.
They do not want ESO to die. The goal is purely to get as much money as they can with minimal effort and costs. That’s where we are right now.
Yes, ESO would have made them significantly more money if they spent the time and invested the money to support the game better. They would’ve kept that huge population of players who have quit since Morrowind. That’s in the past though.... atm they are doing a pretty great job in the context of making money while minimizing effort, time, and costs.

Reserve Slice doesn't feel as instant or clean, poison injection doesn't weave as nicely, and yeah that delay for incap is hot garbage.
I know they intentionally ruined incap, but what's up with the other abilities? Usually when you log into a game after a long time the devs improve the game. It definitely feels worse.

At least you dont have to press button 4 times for skill to fire like for some of us

Yes this is very annoying. Seem to have this issue on some classes/skills but not others. It only ever happens in group content too so not the most satisfying experience when your dps starts plummeting because misfires mess up your rotation.

I guess I either imagined replying in my head or I did reply and it got deleted because apparently agreeing with someone that you've also noticed a bug is somehow unconstructive. Oh well, I'll screenshot this time to make sure I did actually post and then wait to see if they delete it again.

Can we get a different flag for ZOS posts that don't contribute to the discussion? What's the valued-added here? A lot of people are really looking for some official feedback on something that ZOS botched again.
