High Kinlord Rilis takes on the Guardian Council as the BANISHED CELLS fights VOLENFELL! Will Rilis rile the Council? Or will the Council cancel Rilis? YOU DECIDE!

A list of the overall action for BOTH the base and DLC competitions can be found HERE, so people can get a quick glance at the overall action.

All fights will go for TWO DAYS and end at 8PM CST (or your timezone equivalent; figure it out) so this one will end on Sunday, March 22nd.

Not Volenfell.

• The Volenfell map is confusing. So I don't give the dungeon credit for the art.
• Better use of Therraya was made in the recent DLC than in Volenfell itself.
• Volenfell had an explicit cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

So despite its potential, I'm down on Volenfell.

Banished Cells 1 is a GREAT introductory dungeon. In particular, it's much better than the deliberately confusing Spindleclutch 1 and the meh FG 1.

BC1 was my first and that’s always special. I was reprehensible bad in case you were wondering. “So no change there,” say all my friends. Despite the exceptionally long, tortuous dialogue sections, it’s a fun little dungeon. Some nice sets too.

BC2 is annoying. Farmed it for ages trying to get Sanctuary necklaces for friends. Quite like the final HM mechanic, but it’s amazing how much trouble it causes for people.

Volenfel is just crap. One of the worst dungeons, with godawful loot and that horrid Thariya woman. My heart sinks every time it comes up as a pledge. 25 minutes wasted.

Volenfell is pretty enough, and it's one of those which never received the"version 2" treatment, but for some reason it's never appealed to me much. It used to bug out a lot too, especially the boss with the gargoyle and the door after that which wouldn't open. I voted for BC2 because it has some cool bosses and Rilis' bitching is still entertaining and some of the best voice acting in ESO. "Voranil lies ahead. I never liked him. He hums off key."

That is how most hard modes used to be - do something a little different. In FG you have to avoid using the shield, in DC you can't use the levers, in CoH you need 4 ghosts alive when boss goes for the sword, in Spindleclutch you can't kill the NPCs feeding the boss, in Wayrest you must kill a certain number of zombies after engaging the bosses. Vet CoA and vet Elden Hollow were some of the few that had scrolls for hard mode.

Volenfell is an effing mess to navigate. The map doesn't really help, either.

Banished Cells wins for me just because of Kinlord Rilis XII. That condescending snarkiness is utterly hilarious.
