Surplus of doors in Icereach

I had a chance to checkout Icereach to farm some Hiti's last night. I gotta ask...what happened here dungeon team? There are 17 closed doors by our count. For no apparent reason, we opened a door, ran 20 feet to another closed door. The dungeon is fine, kind of a fun last boss fight, but holy crap there's a lot of doors.

Did all the doors from Cyrodiil resource towers end up here?

i mean it is cold there, i see why they would have doors to keep out the wind.

Fair point. It made the farm more entertaining too, once we started to notice just how many doors there were.

It feels like an older dungeon layout/design (say from around the Fang Lair era) that’s been extracted from cold storage. Compare it to, say, Moongrave Fane, where the run along the battlements features no doors at all.

It’s very linear and, yes, there are too many doors. There are probably also too many unnecessary ad pulls.

My guess is that they are there to prevent the ‘run to the end, then stack and burn all the ads’ tactic employed in many ungated dungeons.

Lots of dungeons feature ‘progress blockers’ which only disappear when the relevant enemies have been eliminated. In many cases these are unnoticed as they don’t also require the players to interact with them. I believe here the dungeon team made a conscious decision not to have the doors automatically open as that would have seemed a bit weird for players.
