Updating my note to indicate installation only took me 1 hr on PS4. yahoo!

On my mac the download took less than an hour. Now on the PS4 its going to take an hour just to get the update file. I've read some people saying it will take 50 hours which is not at all practical. and others are saying 14 hours. That is rediculous. My brother started his download right at the time the update launched. 4 hours later its still downloading for him.

It has less to do with the size of the update than it does the quality of your internet and whether you started the download during a high traffic time of day."It is a lovely language, but it takes a very long time saying anything in it, because we do not say anything in it, unless it is worth taking a long time to say, and to listen to." - Treebeard3 -

✭✭I always would put mine in rest mode and not use the internet at all while it was downloading. It always cut the time down significantly.1 -

✭✭✭I left my PS4 actively on all last night, but it is always a gamble whether or not ESO updates automatically download or not - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't (and yes, I have everything checkmarked for automatic downloads and all other games have no issues automatically downloading updates as soon as they are available... only ESO gives me problems).
I checked this morning before work and, of course, the update had not decided to start downloading in the night. I started it around 6:30am Eastern and it estimated 3 hours to completion. This is with the best Comcast service we can get for our area and hardwired.
When I went home to check during my lunchbreak, it was completed, so all set here. I can only assume the 3 hours (or maybe less) held true.PS5 NA. GM of The PTK's - a free trading guild (CP 500+). Also a werewolf, bites are free when they're available. PSN = DragonRacer132 -

✭✭✭Update: LOL I hate this game sometimes. Somehow, the second download did not automatically happen after the first big download. When I came home for lunch, it said everything was completed. Turned PS4 off. Moved it back to my playing area (I play wireless, but had hardwired it in living room for this update).
Turn PS4 back on and guess what starts downloading? The second update.
Which thankfully only took 3 minutes.
But now I am sitting in what looks to be 30+ minutes of “copying files” hell.
