Yeah guards should never be next to wayshrines.

why? there are guards right at the border of any country. Seems appropriate to have a guard ready to apprehend scum that are trying to enter their country.

Wayshrines are not some common transportation though. It's only the Vestige that can use them.

Disagree if wayshrine is in the middle of an busy town they could, not if its outside the main gate like at Abah's Landing they should not.

However never had problems porting in there with an bounty. Its some guards around but not next to it.

However its its looks like its this Khajiit

If I was a guard that's exactly where I would be standing. No need to run after robbers and murderers.

the first guard in ESO to actually get smart and we do him in like this

Sounds like someone has blabbed the location of the thieves den... or maybe he's an insider on the take. Time to contact the Night Mother and teach him a lesson...

Come to think of it we never see where those fines go. Probably into a "retirement fund".

Use Sleek Creek if you have it. Straight shot out the door to Thieves Den with no guards in sight. Then go to Hews Bane.

I looked it up and don't see a difference, can you explain?

As for the post, I don't see an issue. Seriously if you are a GUARD don't you think standing next to a spot where known criminal arrive would be a no brainer? He's just doing his job people.

Bug = Glitches/bugs are software errors that can cause drastic problems within the code. Basically, when something does not work as indented. I assume it is bug, because no other wayshrine in ESO have a guard literally camping it lol.

Exploit = (from the English verb to exploit, meaning "to use something to one’s own advantage") is a piece of software, a chunk of data, or a sequence of commands that takes advantage of a bug or vulnerability.

I also consider this a possibility. Some one, accidentally or not could simply glitch the guard to a new position. Maybe some one had a bounty and guard was chasing him/her to this point, and the guard is now stuck in an infinite loop of trying to arrest everyone who ports there & has a bounty ?

Edit: We don't know if it is intended or not. But if it is intended... it is kinda twisted to make city guard to camp a wayshrine lol...

Hmmm..you gave me an idea for other ports...LOL

Heh...no guard should technically be Expecting anyone to suddenly appear at a Wayshrine.

Wayshrines are not some common transportation though. It's only the Vestige that can use them.

... and apparently the Vestige's mounts and non-combat pets, too. Then there are all those "other" Vestiges running around using them as well.

I sometimes wonder if the NPCs secretly laugh and joke with each other about "the" Vestige and "the" hero who saves the day.

NPC #1: "Did you hear? Some stranger saved the king from assassins!"

NPC #2: "Really? Any idea where the stranger came from? I'd like to buy that hero an ale!"

You: "It was me! So buy me that ale now, I'm thirsty!"

NPC #1: "Yeah, it was you and every other random stranger passing through town!"

NPC #2: "The king loves playing that 'Assassins are out to get me' gag on every stranger who wanders through."

(Entire tavern bursts into laughter at "the" hero.)

To get back to the topic, adapt and use a different wayshrine to reach the Thieves Guild-- or don't adapt and get busted, you criminal scum, you.

I know that the guards who walk a regular patrol route will sometimes follow a different route. You're crouched down, waiting for them to walk the other way so you can get by, but then they zig when you were expecting them to zag.

Some NPCs vary their routines, too, whereas others seem to have a fixed routine. It can be tough to loot certain containers undetected if there are two NPCs nearby, one with a fixed routine and the other with a varying routine, because you might have to wait a long time before their movements mesh just so and you're able to loot undetected.

I'd call that "better AI," not a "bug." ;)

That guard always got dangerously close to the wayshrine so nothing new here. I always laughed about it since its the crime related DLC that gets the smart guard.

That’s all well and good until someone gets killed while they’re in a laggy loading screen and can’t respond to the guard in a timely fashion. Got to consider the reality of game performance before real world logic dude.

This is why I have the Sleek Creek house in Rawlka.

You spawn in the house and no guards near the doors or between the door and the theives den entrance
