If it's been sufficient enough time for most everyone to have played through Dragonhold to it's end, then I would like us to pay homage to ESO's unsung Hero. An admirably annoying old man that many would find no lacking of unkind words to describe his manner, but no one should deny his contributions to the safety and continuance of Tamriel. Always holding the well being of the greater good above all else, no matter the cost. Abnur Tharn.



His ultimate sacrifice ensured the safety of untold thousands, and the Dragonguard forever honors him, always mindful of his absence among us.

He's too smart and tricky to just die in such simple matter, I think with kind of plot armor he'll manage to survive, like Sai Sahan.

That was a soap opera death if ever I saw one. Have no worries, he'll be back for season 8.

At least the blast from that explosion probably sent him flying into the Necromancer’s Moon, allowing him to reunite with his best friend, Mannimarco.

Y'all are obviously in the denial stage of grief. The man took a magical nuke to the face, even for Elder Scrolls, not quite sure that's something to walk away from.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Tharn was under the impression what he was searching for was a way to coerce the three Banners to end a pointless bloody war and restore peace to the Continent.

And yet we didnt see what actually happened to Tharn after explosion. While Sai Sahan was obviously dead during ritual with artifact of godly power, and managed to come back. Dont underestimate survivability: plot level stat

With how many times Varen, Lyris, Sai Sahan, and Darian have died and are still around, I think he's fine

I'm both sure and hoping he will return. No corpse, no proof! He's a stubborn and tricky old man, I'm sure one day we will suddenly hear that snark coming from nowhere and he appears in a portal.
