Stuck in start of zonestory Betnikh

I want to start the zonestory in Betnikh. So I click p --> start zone story and the quest marker appears. However, when i run to the quest marker, no quest npc is there. I have searched around the area, logged back in and out, but the quest giver is never there. Where can i start this zone story?

Note that I have completed the zone story of Stros M'kai

Gruluk gro-Khazun is an Orc who can be found patrolling the docks of Stonetooth Fortress. He gives you the beginning of the main quest. He's right at the end of the dock, closest to the land (or that's his position every time I've done Betnikh)

What do you mean with the dock of Stonetooth Fortress? This are the east docks right? I really cant find him, i have walked through the entire docks.

Yes, the docks when you get off the ship from Stros.
On the dock that runs straight from the boat to the shore is that orc, at the end, usually for me, nearest the shore. He may not have a quest marker. Just talk to him. You can also start the main quest by talking to Lambur inside the Stonetooth Fortress itself, I believe.

Wouldn't be the only quest starter that's been broken with the update.

Main quest starter was broken too. OP try relogging if you haven't already.

That said I believe you because I've seen the same on the Hooded Figure.

I am pretty sure he wasn't there. I have also been inside the Stonetooth Forthress. No Lambur there. Do I need to make a bug report?

I just took a toon into Betnikh, who hasn't done Stros.
You can pick up the main story quest at the lodge SW of the wayshrine - Into the Hills
It should work out. It's a female orc, standing outside the lodge. Her name is Laganakh.

That said I believe you because I've seen the same on the Hooded Figure.

This can happen if your character is from the "wrong" alliance, and the hooded figure is actually waiting elsewhere. I've had the same happen with picking up a flyer for the Fighters Guild, which made the joining NPC appear in only one of the guildhalls, but a quest arrow in each of them.

The Betnikh zone quest should be different, but maybe something similar is happening, because it is an Alliance starter zone. What Alliance is the character in question?

Above ^^ I took an AD toon into Betnikh. She found a quest starter where I mentioned - had not done Stros.

It's also possible you didn't complete the Tip of the Spearhead quest - take the boat to Betnikh (from Stros) and talk to Captain Khaleen when you get to Betnikh.

I am from the correct Alliance and took the boot from Stros. I have completed the zone story there. But Into the hills is from a different quest. So you can't complete the entire zone story. I want to do The Bloodthorn Plot which you can't.

Hello, I am having the exact same issue and was wondering if OP or anyone else found a solution. I am Ebonheart Pact and have done the Stros M'Kai storyline and it took me to Betnikh and Gruluk gro-Khazun did not show up to start the Bloodthorn Plot questline. I have relogged several times and have sent a ticket to customer support which directed me to the forums anyway.

So I ended up doing this and finding the various questlines throughout the island. After I did them all, the quest continued like normal. Never ended up needing to find that npc at the docks. Not sure what happened, but it ended up working out ok in the end. So to anyone who has encountered this issue, just pick up the quests throughout the island like normal.

I encountered the issue last week. I solved it like this: instead of having one Quest giver for the entire thing, what you can do is go around to the three marked zones on Betnikh. Add each one of these, you will find someone with the big Quest diamond over their head. Solve these three, and when you turn in the last one, and orc scout will come running up to your position, and everything will go on exactly the way it was supposed to.

Happened to me last week while doing Caldwell Gold and posted in the Bug Report Forum and submitted a ticket. Several more reports of it occurring in the Bug Report forum as well. The required NPC's simply were not there.

As mentioned above, this worked for me ( sorry, don't have all the NPC names ) :

Explore the island to find the NPC's that assign you the following quests:

Into the Hills
Unearthing the Past
Tormented Souls

and complete them fully. Then find the NPC that assigns Carzog's Demise and complete that quest. For me, completion of the last quest also completed the Bloodthorn Plot quest ( the original starter quest that was missing the NPC assigner )

I was then able to pick up the "On to Glenumbra" quest to proceed the series

having the same issue and by the looks of things others in the same zone as me are as well

I had this problem too a couple of weeks ago. But I did resolve it - if you run about the orc village huts, there's an orc lady who'll give you one of them, and Lambur gives you the other one from inside the fort.

Strange bug, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Could be an issue with certain server's perhaps. I have had similar issues where on one character an NPC will be there, where it is supposed to be, and on others they are completely gone.

There's a simple fix:
If your quest giver isn't at the docks, You should do 3 Quests first: 1) Carved Hills Quest, That you can get at the lodge SW of the Stonetooth Wayshrine from Laganakh. 2) Grimfiel location's quest. And finally 3) Moriseli location's quest. After that a quest giver will approach you with the Main Story Quest. Good Luck on your journey Adept.
