Posting a reply to a thread on the forum does not show the thread as "read"

As said. When I post replies to threads, then reload the index page, the thread I just replied to does not display the greyed-out "read" visual. It's a bit disconcerting. Since I'm sure your website team is in no way involved in game updates, fixes, etc. could you ask that team to take a look @ZOS_GinaBruno. Thank you.

Its not just you. Its really odd because as of yesterday, it was showing the thread as read. Maybe Vanilla Forums changed something.

ZOS uses Vanilla Forums for the forum UI. It can't be that hard for a forum mod to check if this is an intended change.

I would imagine that those people who deal with the forum coding are totally separate from those who are involved with the game programming itself. The issue is if vanilla has again done something totally stupid backend. Jeez. Just use phpBB3 for cats'sakes!

Yep. Nor would this be the first time that Vanilla Forums has rolled out a change without telling ZOS, if that's what happened.

Just had this happen.
But it seems sporadic, because it hasn't happened in every thread to which I've replied in the last 30 minutes.

Regardless... Vanilla SUCKS.

Edit: Ah. I remember now that the thread that was greyed-out was one I hit 'Refresh' on right after I made the reply (before returning to the forum index), so I could make an edit.
If I hadn't hit refresh, it wouldn't have been greyed-out when I returned to the index. So, this ISN'T a sporadic phenomenon.

See, it doesn't work for me on my mobile browser (Chrome on an Android). The "not showing as read" has been on both the phone and PC for me, and only started recently.
