Just wanted to know what they did this time to rile up the players. I keep seeing complaint posts and i’m too lazy to read the patch notes. Honestly i wouldn’t even realize which change it was 😅

I hardly have played anymore because this company always seems to completely change builds/class skills and whatnot. I make a healer so i can use the famed Jesus ray, nerfed. Nightblade stealth, nerfed. Come back 5 months later to make a damage over time DK, nerfed. The DoT nerf was when i uninstalled but now i’m thinking of coming back. So what should i do?

Not play MMOs lol. If you're looking for a game where the popular playstyles aren't nerfed to make way for new playstyles/future content then MMOs aren't the genre for you.

No no no you guys aren’t even answering my topic question, and anyways i’m not a cancerous “meta build” player. I’m saying that literally every time i play something MY way it gets drastically changed somehow. Maybe i provided bad examples..

I mean every time i come back on ESO every skill i use was changed to something useless or completely different. It just got to the point i have no idea how to consistently play something without constant adjusting

To answer your question - the most recent patch (25) required a complete uninstallation of the game and re-installation with promises of performance improvements (by far and away the most requested area of focus by players).

It seems this hasn't fulfilled promises. I'm a console player so haven't had this update yet but can see a lot of complaints about increased rates of crashes etc.

If you're a console player, you may have to re-install again in a week or so - bare that in mind.

If you love MMOs then this is still my favourite one going. I'm not overly competetive though so don't experience a lot of what is complained about.

DOTs still play a big part in DKs, stealth in NBs, you just need to roll with the punches and adapt when changes occur.

Well, game at the moment is in kind of volatile state, gameplay changes happening for better or worse and some distrust if ZoS can or are willing to truly improve performance. If you don't want to do difficult endgame content or PvP and have like minded casual friends/guild, game still should be pretty fun.

If you PVP in Cyrodiil, don’t bother with coming back. Read the threads about crashing multiple times every hour and you’ll see why it’s not worth the time you’ll spend patching the game.

Any differences in performance notwithstanding, the game is far less stable for many people myself included. Crashing when exiting the game(lol), crashing when swapping characters, disconnecting when swapping characters, I crashed earlier while picking flowers, abilities not firing, abilities getting locked out, bar swapping now occasionally breaks abilities completely, the list goes on.

I understand that with an MMO that expecting things to go off without a hitch is pointless, but this patch didn't seem to fix any of the things they said it would and they broke a lot of new things in the process.

They aren't patching specifically against you and it's very rare to just flat out redo a skill. From the sounds of it you're using builds that are considered more meta because those are generally the things that get changed so drastically because everyone uses them.

Lets put it this way, this patch for many people has completely broke the game in PVP obviously it hasn't effected everyone the same in that regard but there is something causing input lag which makes the game feel like complete garbage combat responsiveness has been more or less halved, it's VERY likely that this is a result of the changes to animation cancelling which have basically caused constant interruptions in abilities combos that people have been practicing for years.

Just about everyone I know is either quitting or considering it, the rest already have.

There is some severe input lag that is happening as well, the game is basically unplayable for me outside of PvE and countless others have reported the same issue's while others have said it seems fine. The changes were ill advised to begin with and the result is speaking for itself, it's worse than any nerf they could have given any ability or class or set because it affects our ability to actually properly play the game.

My beef is that the changes have added numerous crashes that make the game unplayable in Cyrodiil. I get approximately 3 crashes/hour.

Other crashes are occurring as well in raid situations, which extends raid time considerably.

I know ZOS is aware due to the volume of crash reports they are probably receiving, and they have posted a bug report log that addresses this, so I'm not raging about it, but honestly, how did this not show up in their QA process? I don't understand how a prevalent bug with such a wide ranging effect can be implemented without being caught during testing.

My friends who do a lot of PVP in Cyrodiil were crashing many many times, and they just aren't logging in for the rest of the week.

I've been exploring a bit, enjoying new dungeons, testing things out for PVE for several hours and crashed once, but it's not enough to rage quit.

Zos didn't seem nerf things this time, it's like they only buffed some builds that were already strong.

The first part is not correct. You are not required to uninstall and they partially adviced against it. What U25 required was in some ways to redownload the game because they made a patch that changed a lot of how the game works under the hood, so 100% of the game got patched this time around. Instead og just a few percent here and there which is usually the case. But you just open the launcher as per usual and let it run until done, like always. It just takes a while longer than usual because of the size, that's all.
If you seriously uninstalled first... you made your life more complicated than it needed to be. But you do you.

What riled players this time is more or less confined to crashes. Cyrodiil crashes constantly now and there's umber pf pther non addon related crashes too. Plus a few odds and ends but the crashing is the big one.
Though considering the size of this patch I'm amazed how painlessly it has gone through. Not to diminish the broken parts or dismiss the annoyance at it, but considering the sheer scale of what they did this are minor potholes.

Step back from the Bleeding Edge. That helps.

Despite the hew and cry, ZOS is pretty good at keeping things balanced. And, the difference between the end all be all meta and all the other builds is 2% or 3%. That is not why your dying.

Then all these balance changes are just background noise. Change an enchantment or two and your set.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Ok, just to correct the view here - if you are more kind of a PvE player, those crashes are not that often - I had just one and otherwise the game is pve wise not in trouble at all. But if you want to pvp, you will not be happy at all.

TLDR: Play what you enjoy playing and try to be patient this month as ZOS works out some ancient issues they're FINALLY addressing.

When it comes to nerfs, play the CLASS and/or ROLE you enjoy most. EVERY class, every role, and every combination thereof will have a patch where it's strong and a patch where it's weak. But it's cyclical for the most part: what was strong last year may be strong again next year.

As to the people you hear complaining, try to filter through the posts and pay close attention to what & how much they say here. People who post negative crap without any detail are generally just ignorant of the issues involved and you probably shouldn't let them affect your view if possible.

The most recent patch is the best ZOS has ever done in regard to addressing AGE OLD performance issues. The only difference now is that we're seeing actual CTDs (Crash To Desktop) because certain code is finally being executed server side (like it should have been from day 1) where it was previously client side (player PCs).

The good news here is that, while the crashes ARE infuriating and have had me finding other things to fill my time this week, these KINDS of crashes provide data and reports that devs can actually use to address these old issues.

So... you have a massive amount of young, impatient, and/or ignorant players who are here complaining and muddying up the waters because they can't see past their own monitors.
But, those of us who understand a little bit more about the dev process are excited to see ZOS's improvements in coming days (fixing current crashes) and months (capitalizing on the performance increase).

    Quite simple !

If you play PVE, the patch is genuinely great ! Loads faster, better overall performance. It's a great accomplishment from the devs.

If you play PVP, well .. they seem to have a nasty crash-to-desktop kind of bug that's happening all the time.

It'll be fixed, of course, but in the mean time, our pvp friends are understandably getting quite frustrated.

You should stop playing meta builds and start playing whatever you like. Nerfs come to us all and they are a cycle. What bad today, will be good tomorrow. Jesus beam got buffed after you claim to have left for a Nerf.

See my point? Let go of the mindless meta mentality and start enjoying the game. :)
