Just curious. Mine is the Orsinium Celebration Event in Wrothgar. I had just been playing a short bit when the event kicked off, I was so new I didn't know you could share dailies and was armor poor. Recall heading to the zone and it was huge, well laid out, easy to navigate and double rewards. Recall hearing in zone chat that dailies were being shared and I'm like what's a daily? Wasn't long before I was running dailies and killing WB's like crazy. Later after running a few more events and getting more seasoned that I realized I just liked how the zone was laid out and there wasn't a feeling of being forced to grind for things. The story lines in the quests were great also, if I recall correctly there wasn't as much run here talk to this NPC, run there and talk to that one, the quests actually felt like you were involved.

My least favorites is the last one, the New Life Festival. It just feels like a total grind, nobody forces you to do all the daily event quests but it just seems like you are running all over the place and you are doing the "exact" same quests every day. BORING! this year I ran one days worth and stopped.

Witches Festival - for trying to force players into trials.

Jesters Festival - for trying to force players into PvP.

ZO have taken events to a really bad place with these. They're not about fun and frivolity any more.

It doesn't help that no event seems special any more because they and the associated tickets feel nearly constant.

EDIT : Favourite? Once upon a time I would have said Witches Festival.

I like the one where I can do writs on all my characters and get boxes with each writ containing motifs lol.

    Whichever that one is.

DLC ones... I can’t say they are the worst I just do t care at all about them.

Launch anniversary - which is fast approaching. April.

It's not really fun, but yeah, the rewards are juicy.

Favorite: Midyear Mayhem in Cyrodiil - its all the large battles I love in PVP, worth twice the AP

Least Favorite: Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood because their dailies just annoy me with the intentionally confusing maps and time limits.

My "taste" of events is nowadays a little different, in the first year, i participated in all events and liked em when they were new. Today, i skip most events or do only the absolute minimum/least effort to get some tickets here or there and skip as fast as possible.

I think for new players these events can be nice the first time, but every year again the same makes em lacking and feel dated, even with new rewards you dont get me farming new life boxes or jester festival's pig running etc, again.

Some kind fresh breeze every year would be great, like at least "refreshing" one of the olds event with different/new content (NOT rewards only) per year. So like 2020 a new jester festival, 2021 maybe a new halloween one and 2022 a new new life festival. That would at least keep a bit fresh those things, as no one will feel great having the same event 10 years in a row farming up for the new rewards (even if they would be great, it would feel like a chore)

I always liked the Anniversary Jubilee (original recipe) because people could do the content they liked and still get rewarded for completing a daily. PVP, PVE, Pledges, DLC dailies, Crafting - something for all.

The rest of them have all gotten stale for me at this point.

The Crashing Mayhem Event is going on right now. Doesn't seem to be popular with players. ZoS should probably retire the event.

Best: Anniversary Event (usual one; the 5-week one with a bit of everything excluded) is preferred: motifs from almost everywhere for doing daily craft writs I pretty much do anyway - can't be bad.

Worst: Any event that involves a random rather than guaranteed drop chance (contents of reward boxes aside) or requires you to jump through silly hoops; too many to mention but I'll randomly grab Dark Brotherhood out of the plethora of rubbishy ones. And the current one. Also any event which causes, mostly, pc-eu to shutdown due to extra maintenance induced by atrociously bad planning by developers - which at least first time around, is, mostly, each event.

On reflection, I only 'like' the anniversary one because it usually doesn't involve having to do something in game I would ordinarily not bother with at a time I have no interest in whatever zone/dlc is involved.

That's not how it worked last year.

Every week you had to do one of those to get its rewards.

Only in the final week you could do any, but its rewards were still limited to its own little pool. You couldn't craft to get the pvp rewards. You had to either PvP yourself or buy the rewards (outfit pieces) from other players.

Anniversary because do what you want.

this murkmire event. Absolute trash. First event where i wont even get one of the items for doing it every day. I have only gotten 2 pet items and 2 of the emote. Drop rate on second box is about 0.000001% pathetic.

    they should be embarrassed.

They're still about fun and frivolity there's just a certain small population that hates expanding their horizons. Optional events are "forcing" people out of their comfort zone because they are no longer just about killing deleve monsters over and over for 3 weeks. It makes more sense to have events that cater to every part of the MMO and not just overland PVE players.

The events were never special and never felt special, they've only recently felt like they had some form of purpose because they're not about mindless grinding unless you actively choose to grind that way.

Favorite would be the Mayhem. Simply put, you kill me but I kill you right back. I don't PVP much, probably only 30 to 40 percent of my in-game time is spent in PVP. MM was better when it first started just because performance was better. Although, this last Mayhem had the best performance I've seen in Cyrodiil in quite a while.

Least favorite would be the Undaunted event. I just think it's a bad design to tie the tickets to killing the last boss in a dungeon. I think it would be better and more inclusive to tie the rewards to finishing an undaunted quest. That would include everyone because the undaunted initiation can be completed just after character creation and then Bolgrul will be your friend.

I generally like the "Festivals" but those are getting a little long in the tooth. It would be nice to get all new quests from time to time.

The anniversary event is nice as long as you don't try to do everything everyday.

    Anniversary event is my favorite.

I'd say the Murkmire event is the one I enjoy the least. The drop rate on extra boxes is abysmal. I come for 3 minutes. get my one box for the day, then go do something rewarding. When extra rewards can take hours to acquire and reward potentially 250g worth of "rewards" it doesn't entice me to stay there.

ZOS has apparently given up on events and are just going through the motions. Flip a switch, turn on the same grind as last year, and mail it in. I used to love ZOS events. There was always something unique to an event that made it something to look forward to. They were also less frequent so it felt like a big deal.

But the Indruk mount system completely ruined them for me. Everyone loves a mount but using the same old mount for EVERY event as the pinnacle grind is just absurd. And the fact that the mount itself is extremely nuanced in appearance for a specific race AND zone makes it even worse.

Ok, so forgetting the horrible mount, what about the most recent event? Grinding for two of the most worthless cosmetic items in the game: an emote and a non-combat pet. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE cosmetic rewards but these are the two I'm least interested...and it seems like that's all ZOS is going to give us. The token grind in the PVP even was for an emote too. Just sad. Even hard core roleplayers rarely use all these absurd emotes. They type them out anyway.

Maybe ZOS forgot there are other cosmetic rewards in their game? On the rare chance ZOS gives a **** and is reading this, I'll remind you:

    Costumes
    Hats
    Adornments
    Hairstyles
    Markings
    Personalities
    Skins
    Name change tokens
    Outfit change tokens
    Race change tokens
    Polymorphs
    Furnishings
    Respec scrolls

...and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch. I'd grind my heart out for a new outfit or personality. But I don't give a skeever's arse about emotes.

My favorite so far, the Imperial City event. I had a blast last year.

Least favorite is easily the Undaunted event. Most events I simply ignore or do not partake in if they're not fun to me, but I can't get away from the Undaunted event since I enjoy dungeons. Between a glitchy DF or prior to last year the FG1 mess and a broken DF, I find that I dislike it.

Used to be the anniversary event, but .. I like the one with the best rewards which, with the ticket system, means not most of them, but I do them anyway.

I like it when an event causes an arena to give double weapon drops since that gives us a better chance for "that" weapon. :p

I also like getting flowers and motifs in reward boxes.

Currently I like the PVP event the most because I like PVP the most.

I've enjoyed all of the events, so I don't think I can pick a least favorite event.

As far as trying to pick a most favorite, I'm utterly surprised to say that my two favorites have been Midyear Mayhem and the one in the Imperial City and Imperial Sewers. I say "utterly surprised" because I've never been fond of PvP or dueling, not so much because I dislike it but rather because I generally stink at it.

Favourite: Witches Festival with all its tasty loot from bosses

Least favourite: I was going to say Murkmire with its ridiculous gold boxes, but then remembered good old times when double drop was all you got from events (also I do LOVE this zone). So Jester's. Still remember the pain of farming Dubious Camoran Throne recipe. Or Orsinium with it's frustrating motif drop rate.

They're still about fun and frivolity there's just a certain small population that hates expanding their horizons.

Expanding horizons? Please. Let's call this what it is - a personal attack.

Games are a form of entertainment. Fun.

People enjoy what they enjoy and they don't enjoy what they don't enjoy.

ZO is a game developer with a delusional fantasy that they can force all players to love all parts of their game who made the foolish mistake of trying to force players into them with events.
Optional events are "forcing" people out of their comfort zone because they are no longer just about killing deleve monsters over and over for 3 weeks.

    Comfort zone?

Another sad and desperate personal attack.
It makes more sense to have events that cater to every part of the MMO and not just overland PVE players.

Absolutely. But that's the literal opposite of what they've done.

If you could earn the same holiday achievements through a variety of different methods - pve, pvp, dungeons, trials etc. - that would be catering to everyone.

Which is absolutely not what ZO have done.

ZO have crammed achievements for parts of the game most players won't go near otherwise into their holiday achievements. With I suspect predictably disastrous results.

Namely people still got nearing them and just not bothering with holiday achievements and possibly also the game.

I'm not liking events much. The drop rate on everything is so dismal that the only conclusion I can come up with is that ZoS is trying to create excitement over in game items, then making it so difficult to get the pieces and parts so that people who want them, and are frustrated end up buying waaaaay over priced tickets in the crown store.

It all just rubs me the wrong way, as if the people at ZoS calling the shots are talking about how easy it will be to fool and trick their customers into paying a lot more to get the items they try to create excitement over yet purposefully make so that the drop rate causes incredible frustration.

Nobody should ever miss out on getting their daily event tickets. Being in a group should not cause you to miss your daily tickets. The drop chance for strong boxes should not be so bad, that you can spend hours upon hours upon hours killing mobs, farming nodes, looking chests and never get one in days of playing 8-10 hours a day. It's crazy stupid!

Not liking the events, if this continues to be how ZoS treats their customers, I won't be one for many more events. It's one of those situations where there are some up and coming MMOs that are looking really great, and I might end up leaving a game I otherwise really enjoy other than all the coded frustration to cause people to spend more and more and more money.

Get your hand out of my pocket ZoS, and start fixing the problems and issues with every aspect of the game before you start milking your customers for more money.

And just a suggestion, trying to create situations where people engage in content they do not wish to engage in, just to get event tickets, is not a good idea. Create fun and engaging content, but don't do it with the intent of trying to make people play the game how you want them to play it. Cater to your customers, stop trying to force them to be as you want them.

The events which take place in specific zones offer a reason to go back to a zone you might not have been to in a long time, and I enjoy going back to revisit them. This is also true of events that span multiple zones, such as Jester's and New Life, because even if you just visit a zone to do a quick 2-minute quest such as throwing mudballs, you might be tempted to stick around a bit and do a delve or public dungeon.

That's the main reason I enjoy all of the events-- not so much for any special rewards such as tickets or reward boxes, which are certainly nice although they can add the element of grinding for the special rewards if you let yourself get focused on that aspect of the event, but rather because I enjoy the excuse to get out of my daily rut of doing crafting writs and occasionally farming for more mats.

    I really enjoyed

Witches - it encouraged me into arenas and to run normal trials for guildies, very relaxed and fun

Orsinium - finally, finally got that Orsinium Patron achievement after 2 years, great to see so many people doing some of the harder DLC World Bosses

Summerfall - “port to Arteum” showed the best of the community

Mid-Year-Mayhem - enjoyed this way, way, way more than I had expected. Finally killed a Trove Scamp to max out all my holiday achievements. Got more (ie a bit) into PvP. Have actually done PvP after the event, which astonishes me.

Undaunted - mmmm dungeons, what’s not to like?

    I kind of liked

New Life - it was a bit stupid and repetitive, but they had sorted some of the main pain points

    I don’t like

Murkmire - everything that is boring and badly thought out about events. Another crappy Indrik. Another event that drops alongside a new content drop. A much more brazen attempt to monetise events. An appalling method of ticket delivery that enables ZOS to blame players for not getting drops. Altogether ghastly. Worse than that, it’s absolutely no fun. I don’t see anyone saying how much they are enjoying it (in contrast to the new dungeons, which people are being very enthusiastic about). Please stop this.

Dragonhold/fire/kill - killing dragon story in Elsweyr is badly thought out and boring. It’s impressive to see how badly they got this wrong and how much better the dragon killing in Southern Elsweyr is.
