It's dowloading ~51GB in the old install folder, next to it. So no, 30GB free space won't be enough for nothing.

2.13mb/s far, far slower than I usually get. Slower even than the PTS downloaded this patch.

Indeed, it is worth the trade off, and at least I can leave it running while at work. It should get a little faster during the day when there's less of the household using it.

Mine will be stuck on 2% for about 4 hours and then will suddenly go far faster, for the remaining 98%, going by previous experience.

Not true. Just start the launcher and it should start. That is what worked for me.
