low pop bonus is dumb

a few token participation points does not make the gameplay loop of getting kicked in the *** over and over any better.

a high pop faction has numbers, probably all passive scroll buffs, and most likely emperor.

everyone else gets a few Disney Dollars. . .

and because nothing is done, implemented, fixed, or changed (in fact its neglected)

the issue only gets worse, as its very easy to just go "yeah, I DO want to be on the *** kicking winning team!"

fix.

It was never intended to be an equalizer. Rally the troops. Help organize for your faction.

It may be unrelated but some think Cyrodiil was designed to be competitive PvP. It was really just designed to be an open-world PvP area. Without controls on population and other areas, it is not a competitive match.

As the first response said, cyrodiil was not meant to be competitive, the fact ppl think that us absurd. It's a war zone where your faction can be stomped at any time if they let up.

I'm sure it's fine. I once got a 142.5k AP tick for just riding into a keep that the Covenant was flipping.

Go into Kaal, and tell everyone to leave and join the other Campaigns. Moving everyone into Campaigns with no one will at least make all Campaigns have someone.

Everyone should just move to the faction that always wins. Then we can paint the map that color and just emote each other to death. We will all be winning then

My issue with the low pop bonus is when it doesn’t just equalize an eval but makes it so the low pop faction actually outgains the other factions despite having very little ownership of keeps and resources. I get that the low pop bonus is meant to help the low pop faction to stay in competition with the other two in terms of campaign score, but when it gets to that point you actually help your low pop alliance by not entering Cyro. You just let the few who are on defend what they have as best they can, earning massive points per eval, until the other two factions eventually try taking each other’s stuff because they’re both overextended.

When low pop bonuses mean that just entering Cyro is objectively going to be worse for your alliance, they need to be refigured.

As an aussie that's pretty much what's happened post faction lock.

    Good times.

And by good times I mean I'm often having good times in other games.

And right there you explained the issues with PvP. It's not competitive in your words, so what do people do when they cannot possibly kill people they are playing against?

They go kill people who are just doing quests, or PVErs who happen to be in the zone.

It's a problem, and you pointed out exactly why. People who want to engage in a competition, just like PVErs who just want to do their thing, don't want to be fodder for other people to beat on. And game mechanic that creates a situation where other players are fodder for advancing, is a broken game mechanic in my opinion. People will all want to naturally be on the winning faction side, and then when they cannot engage in fair fights, because they want to fight someone will start looking for victims instead, ganking people AFK, ganking people on a quest, ganking in groups.

PvP in ESO needs to be fixed, it's so broken in so many ways that we see all kinds of issues far beyond just game mechanics, it affects the entire feel of the PvP areas as anyone can see by the posts on this very forum.
