Changing the drive onto which I download ESO

I recently added a new SSD to my PC and want to install ESO on that drive when the full download happens next week. I originally installed the game on my HDD through Steam and Steam lets me choose the drive I want.

Will the full download be done similarly (via Steam as if it were a new game) or through the patcher as if it was an update? If it's the latter, how can I ensure it installs on my SSD?

I'm wondering if I should fully delete the game the evening before the download and re-install it from Steam. I assume Steam will have the correct version of the game?

What I want to avoid is downloading the damn thing twice!

You will need to re download any how on the 24. But during installation you can change where it goes, if its via steam there should be an option as well within settings.

That’s what I’m hoping. Steams method for picking the drive is pretty good.

Before the patch goes live, uninstal
Instal the new client to the new location

    (or use a symlink)
but the new clients sort of lend itself to the change you want to make...

It's the same client. It doesn't matter if you run it from Steam or not. The only thing you "benefit" from Steam is that people see when you're playing..

Steam however have an history of causing the client all kinds of problems, like corrupting the installation files. They might have been able to make fixes now but still I would recommend getting the original one.

Also, the client is easy to move from place to place, there are more than one way to do it. Just google a bit.
